If only you all would realize how little I give a sh#t.

So why are you here day in and day out posting away?

You follow up a biblical quote referencing Obama with a call to lynching with no reference that it's a quote, and that when googled only pulls up this thread. The other quote from Baldwin seems to say it was from a comedy bit.

But feel free to trash liberals like Baldwin all you want. There are plenty of kooky left wingers that are out there. But as a moderate independent I see the vitriol and lies coming from the right as FAR, FAR worse than what comes from the left. Of course you'll never see or admit to it. Because YOU are part of the problem.

Whenever I have discussions with friends/family etc. that are liberal they never accuse me of being a conservative. They never claim I am brainwashed by the media or education system. It usually ends up that we just agree to disagree. And we often learn from each other's perspective

Yet when I have discussions with friends/family etc that are conservative they assume I am a liberal. As if to say if you aren't conservative you MUST be liberal. They think I have been brainwashed by the education system or the "liberal" media. They claim I want to support freeloaders, raise taxes, etc.

Why is that? Why is there such a huge industry of right wing media that makes money of exploiting these peoples fears and predjudices? How can they ignore reality and think everyone else who thinks differently from them must be a FAR left socialist?

You are a liberal. And you don't even realize it.
Awesome, skippy just proves my point. thanks!

I grew up in a right of center household, thinking I was a republican.

After learning more and forming my own opionions I thought I was a liberal. Mostly because I was so repulsed by the right, and ended up voting democratic more often than republican becuase they seemed more reasonable more often. Good republicans are few and far between and nowadays are derided as RINOs.

About 10 years ago I started re-examining things, and took some of those Internet quizzes, and low and behold I found out I was a centrist. It all made sense. I see thru the BS on both sides. I know the pragmatic solutions are usually the moderate ones. I reject the morons on the extremes.

But as I said I end up aligning with the dems/libs more often because the right and republicans are MORE extreme, most dishonest, and FAR more often they claim to know what others think or they tell you someone ELSE'S motivations. It's so easy to see thru the bullsh#t. Fear, selfishness, lies, projection, strawman arguments. I have respect for Fatty, John, and a lot of conservatives I know, but I don't know how they can call themselves conservatives when SO many conservatives are just raging as#@&%es.

Probably more significant is Jintao's willingness to meet with Gates following talks by the two defense secretaries.

There may be military relevance to China's stealth capability. I am no judge. That a prototype was built sooner than our intelligence estimates indicated, is significant. But note. Any test data we have on actual performance specifications for this platform are limited and probably obtained from satellite. (That anyone would court this much public exposure for a plane that has yet to fly, is not credible.)

Most significant of all is the fact stealth has pushed China's progress in rocket development off the front page.

I think if you once realize China loses were it to destroy its biggest customer and possibly the whole planet, you have to see all of this as choreography. Probably choreography managed by the Chinese military establishment, planing to use our new Congress as a foil.

I finger the military because in any ensuing arms race between the two nations the dollar will suffer. The military is not that concerned with decline in value of China's holdings denominated in dollars. Indeed, such would be considered a victory ten times larger than what could be gained in any military engagement.

We are now ready to be Reaganized.

Added 1/12
As China continues to assume a truly global trade position not so dependent upon the US, builds modern infrastructure, and provides jobs to its people two things happen.

Relatively speaking China’s one trillion investment in dollars becomes smaller and more expendable and the civilian leadership will have more trouble dissuading its military industrial complex from undertaking a military competition.

I would say it is probably an even bet that China will do to the US what we are told the US did to Russia.

If so, our security took a serious hit the day we decided we did not have to pay for our wars.

Dr. F, I'll post about that another day when I have some time.

But I see a big difference right there. Dr. F is actually open to seeing things from a different perspective.

Well one thing that worries me about the liberal agenda is they want to make everyone gay! Right? ;-)

Face the reality, Israel will never turn over an inch of Jerusalem, radical Islam will go to war and Obama will be finished in 2012.

Considering DaftRat's abysmal record of prognostication I suddenly feel much more hopeful about the future.

Sara Paulin is such a tragic defect...

It only takes a small amount of time before she sticks her dumbsass out for ridicule again.

Shame, or at the very least, poor choice of words from an uniformed member of the American tailor-park.

http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/2011/01/12/132861457/sarah-palins-blood-libel-use-stirs-new-controversy

"Perhaps the surest thing to say about the reaction to Sarah Palin's video response to charges that her edgy political rhetoric contributed to an atmosphere that made the Tucson shooting more likely is that the reaction to it will be about as polarized as to anything else the former Alaska governor says or does. Her supporters will defend it, her detractors lambaste it.

One of its more interesting aspects is her use of the term "blood libel" in this passage:

If you don’t like a person’s vision for the country, you’re free to debate that vision. If you don’t like their ideas, you’re free to propose better ideas. But, especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.

Needless to say, she probably couldn't have chosen a more explosive term than blood libel. That term has been used to describe false and beyond-the-pale charges throughout history that Jews committed unspeakable crimes.

The charges were used to justify atrocities against Jews over centuries.

Obviously, some people who happen to be Jewish are expressing their dismay that she would go there."

What a tard!

It's strange that none of these self proclaimed "Good Americans" who spew this hateful rhetoric will actually own up to their stupidity when the fit hits the shan?

Why not own it?
Why not to the right thing for once and say yes, I did something wrong in my statements and may have insighted enough anger to get people all riled up enough to cause a shooting death or two.... I, Sarag Palsy did that.

Why not?

Because these self proclaimed Good Americans are a pathetic bunch of mouths who would never put their money where their mouths are.

As a democrat, independent, green party member, I'd be pointing out the facts.. that voting repuke will not get you hired, it will not make the air cleaner, nor the water fresher, nor the prices lower. Actually, quite the opposite.

A vote for the repuklicunt party is a vote against American prosperity.
