I liked that one, Tami.

You have excellent taste and your shoes obviously match.

Some people are not perfect.

I know, it's a universal truth, but at least we both know different.

We've learned from our mistakes, too.

Some never do.

I loved the black and white and appreciate the effort Mr. Lipsett made to educate you and others.

But NASA finally figured it out, back then, at least.

It just took trial and lots and lots of error, WHICH MANY OF US FORGET.

[Click to View YouTube Video]As a kid, listening to sonic booms and watching plumes of steam and combustion rise fromt the Arerojet rocket engine test facility out by Mather AFB in Sacramento, I really appreciated it when our cartoon maestro on Ch. 3 screened some rocket failures. His name, CAPTAIN SACTO. He came on just after the Mouse Club and just before SKIPPER STU and POPEYE.

This is revolutionary to me, and I like it.

WATCH THIS, IF YOU HAVEN'T.

I cannot promise anything, because I just watched the movie, parts of it, anyway, with Denice B. early this morning while the Rev slumbered, dreaming of more sleep, probably.

I believe Fellini would have appreciated this one.

It is a bit confusing, but that's part of its message.

But when Quinn gets ya in...

Mr. Merlot, thanks, you magic Norsty. You run some seriously cool didaction on your part, too. School should be more damn fun than not going to school. How simple is that? A high schooler simply doesn't want to be bored and TOLD. If it's on offer, they may or may not take a bite and chew on it; it's at least a bit more tempting to bite an educational apple if it's read to them. Too little effort goes into making subjects more (shyte) interesting.

Been out bein' a blue-eyed son of a gun, looking for dead oceans (the whole central valley, if you please), and trying to figure out my next moves on the board of life in advance. And I was just thinking of you, Taddly.

What have YOU and MO been doin'? The kiddies all safe? Will you be around at Facelift?

Dish.

A great example of didaction here.

I came across this late last night.

It moved me.

Miss. John Hurt/I Shall Not Be Moved
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLc8YeXP8FY

Miss. John Hurt informed Mr. John Fahey that he should play more hymns simply by playing them so damned well and feelingly. And he should use his style of pickin' to compose some things on his own.

Ho, man!

Was the second, younger John, ever moved!

A splendid influence, in my book.

Now, following my wont, I checked out my Gramma B's bible, which was given to my mother, the second Mrs. B. And I looked up the Second Epistle of John of God, to whom Jesus entrusted his own mother's well-being as he was hung up and couldn't any longer physically look after her.

From: John, the old Elder of the church. To: That dear woman Cyria, one of God's very own, and to her children whom I love so much, as does everyone else in the church.
Since the Truth is in our hearts forever,
God the Father and Jesus Christ his Son will bless us with great mercy and much peace, and with turth and love.
How happy I am to find some of your children here, and to see that they are living as they should, following the Truth, obeying God's command.

Those are verses 1-4. The rest of the chapter is in the same vein.

The Elder John closes the letter in this manner:

Well, I would like to say much more, but I don't want to say it in this letter, for I hope to come to see you soon and then we can talk over these things together and have a joyous time.

Verse 12 seems a good place to close this homily. I don't want to bore anyone with my peace of mind.

I shall be at Facelift. I hope to see and meet many of you brother climbers and your families and have a joyous time ourselves!

A special shout-out/thank you to neebee, whose kindness and example helped this rolling stone in the right direction, allowing me to find this peace.

I still have many rough edges, but these kind of stones make excellent building material, do they not? Not necessarily better, because the Mighty Builder is the one who chooses each of us for special tasks.

His boy, JC, could be said to be the Heavenly Honcho, trying to herd us onto the right trails.

Peter and the rest took turns being the Righteous Ramrod when their times came.

Amen.

Hey, it is Sunday, right? :)

If you don't understand that He Who Makes is the Chief of this Tribe, and is capable of great whimsy, stop and look around.

I give you the playtpusthe coelocanthand climbing itself

Dingus, Bingus! Outtasite, man. Joyous!

What is a Presbyterian?

A Presbyterian is a Baptist who likes to drink but doesn't have enough money to be Episcopalian.

Sunday funny

A Baptist and a Methodist were riding out together, just prior to a
storm. The Baptist suggested they should drive faster.
The latter replied, "Why, brother, are you afraid of water?"
"Oh, no," said the Baptist, "I am not afraid of the water, it's the
sprinkling I wish to avoid."

I have been to the top of Otay twice and to Monument Peak of Mt. Laguna thrice.

Interestingly, on one Otay trip an inmate had escaped from the nearby Donovon State Prison and we encountered 14 Border Patrol vehicles which kindly (or not) generated enough dust to make me cough for two weeks afterwards. They did assure us we would be fully protected (even though the guy was forty miles away in another part of the county).

While you're reading the Bible, Mouse, don't forget the Book of Reason...sadly, not included in any Bible I've ever seen.

Why have we a brain, otherwise, than to scope out the WatchTower, Awake, The Ligourian, World Magazine, just to name a few modern epistolic publications, let alone The Book?

You don't need reason when faith is concerned. It's just that simple. We make our own choices based on reason. I find my life quieter, more relaxed and worry-free than ever currently. It's reason enough for me at this stage in my life. Whether I live after death is of no real consequence to me, I'm not seeking heavenly reward; but it would be as wild a surprise as consciously experiencing one's last ride on that waterfall, should that come to pass.

And as to whether dead matter can or will rise at the end of the world, we are all in this together, and if everyone were to operate in the same manner, this could be a paradise. Reason tells us this cannot happen currently. This is where hope buttresses love.

It's a good reason to check out the bible and I'm glad for the biblical education that was given me. I'm a step ahead of some others, meaning I'm a leader of sorts, actually trying to live up to the expectations of my parents in a minor, unanticipated way, but doing it honestly and with patience.

It is a comfortable role and that is all I should say.

Bees, out.

As sermons go, this is not one. It is only a meditation on responsiblilty. But the fact is, we are our brother's keeper, and his
well-being should be our concern. When we ditch this responsiblility, we are in error. And to accept this responsibility takes courage. From where does our courage come to us in some of these situations involving our brothers-in arms or our brothers-in-daily-life?

People have labeled me a leader, and that is hard to stomach, as I am not a good role model, or haven't been, to my mind.

Things look different today, I hear every mother say.

They aren't different now from WWII, or Galilee in the time of the Apostles when it comes to the important stuff, but a casual observer wouldn't see this, only accept the lyric as good enough, without thinking. (Thank you, Mr. Lipsett).

neebee, the Mary Cassatt of the North, tells me she doesn't like to listen to things which may stick in her head and distract her from what she feels is her trail. I am sorry for the crudity of the message above, neebee and others, too, but it means something to me. As I said, there are lots of rough edges on this cobbly old geek, but then there are many out there in the same boat, thinking they can walk on water alone.

I think they are wrong in that and I'm not afraid to say it. You're like a stone, dudes. You're going to the bottom quickly without help, from above or from your mates, you will soon be meeting your fates.

Peter found it out the hard way, according to the old story. He adjusted to the yoke and found it comfortable.

I'm not there...

...I'm here, now.

Haul on that bowline, mateys.

Heave! All together now, handsomely!

hey there say, mouse...

as to this, though, not to worry, or think i am 'narrow' to not
listen to others though:

neebee, the Mary Cassatt of the North, tells me she doesn't like to listen to things which may stick in her head and distract her from what she feels is her trail. I am sorry for the crudity of the message above, neebee and others, too, but it means something to me. As I said, there are lots of rough edges on this cobbly old geek, but then there are many out there in the same boat, thinking they can walk on water alone.

what i MEANT when i shared that is this:

things that are very overpowering as to pressured and fast paced PUSH PUSH PUSHES whether in music, talk, singing, or words/books, etc... is what i do not fill my mind with, or let myself BE DELUGED by, or watered with, etc,
:)

it makes the brain heavy and blocks out or own things and wonders at learning and listening to the whole picture of things, and it ruins our trail with rockfall, dead briars, and slipping dirt constantly where we start to step...

always better to, like plants, take in PROPER amounts of whatever is out there and TEST what is good 'food for us'...

:)

but, just wanted to share, that i sure don't mind listening to friends share what they are doing, how they feel, or what they enjoy, i just may careful in my own ways to go by the gut-feeling of what make my over-all
self, body, mind and spirit:

grow, flourish and give out the best fruit that i can, :)

and, of course, i keep praying, :)

thank you so much, for all the very nice shares, here at the flame, for us all to visit. :)

Assuredly not the Stereotones.

Don't use a skateboard for this tour!
A bit of a non sequitur, but this is what I do when I pull over to shoot.
In honor of Dr. Margaret, who hired my old friend Natalie when our B.Dalton Bookseller store closed, here's Dale and his weird buddy, along with an even more weird duck.

[Click to View YouTube Video]A pleasant valley Sunday here, but a bit too hot.
I'll be back after a shower and some much-needed rest and we'll look at some birds other than Donald.
