Thanks for the video Ed........REALLY good music by McCoy, loved it!
See you at the Bridwell party? Bring the camera, man that DVD at Lynnes was one of the funniest things I've seen ever, true comedy for the climbers crowd. I would bet there will be some great opportunities for some vintage footage at Todd's!
Peace

Sorry, Gary. Thought I picked up somewhere upthread that you were in the Marine Corps.

I was ribbing you about the list. I'm glad it wasn't 170 or so people. The smaller group was great. Thanks for the hard work pulling this together. We arrived on Thursday but didn't get to the Gorge and Santee until Friday when our guides Off and BVB arrived.

Seeing familiar faces again and the wonderful hospitality of Lynne topped it all off. Thanks again Lynne! The weekend went by way too fast.

We hit the Birch-Scripps Aquarium in La Jolla on Monday before flying out. Very nice place. And I thought Woodson ate Steve up! LOL!!

Actually Mimi, you almost saw correctly...I was in the Marine Corps uniform for I was a Navy Corpsman for the 1st Battallion 23rd Marines out of Houston, Texas during Operation Iraqi Freedom / Enduring Freedom over in Iraq from 8/04 to 3/05 (I was 42 years old then). Because the Navy provides the Marines with their medical support they allow these members of the Navy the priviledge of wearing their uniform. This picture was taken prior to me deploying, in front of my Mom's house in Poway with a U.S. flag blanket drooped over her garage door for the background!

Coming home (note the plug for the Petzl headlamp)...

Really nice to see everybody getting together.

Hey Watusi,
Can you float us that picture of yourself, from the Way back machine, doing Hear My Train, cordless, in the Tiger running shoes?

FOB Hit (Forward Operating Base)...

FOB Hit...

I couldn't stop climbing so I had Bondo shipped from home and used Euphrates River rock and indoor holds to create this for entertainment...

Nah, it was just something I had to do and come home safely to continue with life. I called it, "The Most Boring Campout Of My Life." Overall, it wasn't as bad as CNN made it out to be. I was fortunate to have ate and drank tea (chai) with the Iraqi interpreters and the Albanian contractors the whole time I was there. Thank God for these guys!

Tefik and Islam (Albania)...

Ali (Iraq)...

Oh, and yes, as you can see in the background, these guys had entertainment of their own (contrary to what you may have heard about the Muslim faith)!

Gezzzz, I look a little intense :D Wonder if that is Butthole Express (forgive my language grandkiddos if yo are lurking, but that's the name of the climb.) Where you have to go for this finger size hole in the rock.

Climbing with Gordo is always Fun! I got denied on a 5.10 crack climb around the corner. But Scuffy gave me some great new shoes so I'd like to try again til I get it. Anyone around here want to meet at Dixon, give me a call.

The whole weekend was awesome. I didn't know Mimi and Steve were gonna show at the casa. What an incredible suprise ! At @ 1am and mostly winding down, Mimi says, "Lynne let me help you get this place cleaned up." LOL, by that time all I could see was a pillow with my name on it. Finally met someone with more energy than me. Peace Mimi :D

And Everyone Great Pics and Dvd's !!!!!

Butthole Express... reminds me of Rectum Roof at the Gorge, where you reach over the bulge into the crack between the cheeks and put your fingers in the hole. That'd be Werner Landry's sense of humor, the fella who wrote the second Mission Gorge guide, the one that came after Eric Beck's.

Mimi, it's heart warming to see you call the Gorge "stellar." It always had the reputation for being small, weird, and dusty, but I loved that place.

Mike, one of my lasting memories of you is that you were always the picture of "stoke." Thanks for keeping the fire lit for lots of people, which is a pretty cool legacy from those days. Pics of you on so many of the SD boulders still inspire! Gotta pop in and say hi next time I'm in Oregon.
