No, I am not trying to be deceptive, just trying to point out that LEB worked her ass off to get where she is, likely spent a decade or more, and that somebody who thinks spending 6 weeks to ruthlessly wire a toprope problem is a big deal (and then calls themselves a 5.14 climber) cannot imagine.

Point taken.

"Corporations are Not people"

Every corporation you can name is made up of actual people.

There's no reason these people should give up any of their rights just because they've banded together.

Chaz -you are so correct.

Conservatives and liberals approach almost every issue with completely different philosophies, underlying assumptions, and methods.

It probably angers Liberals that they are forced to obey the same laws of physics that Conservatives do, preventing them from operating in a different universe so to speak.

But time to refresh some of the basics:

Most liberals, despite what they'll tell you, believe that abortion ends the life of an innocent child, but they prefer killing the baby to
inconveniencing the mother.

"Liberals are socialists who view successful business owners as people who
cheated the system somehow or got lucky. That's why they don't respect high
achievers and see them as little more than piggy banks for their programs."

Liberals believe that it's ok to discriminate based on race as long as it
primarily benefits minority groups.

Medicine in my lifetime has added on layer after layer of new specialities, new procedures, new rules, new laws, new drugs; and yet I really don't know if the real-life outcomes have really progressed all that far.

It's overwhelming. But, yes, it really has progressed that far. You have to be in the trenches to see it. 30 years ago, with diabetes, there wasn't much we could do. They all died. We cut off all their legs. They all needed kidney transplants. We had nothing that really treated any of it, and we didn't know if any of it worked. When I diagnosed someone, I knew they'd lost 20 years off their life, and their was nothing I could do about it. Now, they probably live about as long as anyone, we know what to do, we prevent most of the trouble.

Here is a great summary: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11099582

The overall improvement in the health of Americans over the 20th century is best exemplified by dramatic changes in 2 trends: 1) the age-adjusted death rate declined by about 74%, while 2) life expectancy increased 56%.

Beginning in 1936 and continuing to 1956, there was precipitous decline in maternal mortality from 582 deaths per 100 000 live births in 1935 to 40 in 1956.
Since 1950 the maternal mortality ratio dropped by 90% to 7.1 in 1998

In 1915, approximately 100 white infants per 1000 live births died in the first year of life; the rate for black infants was almost twice as high. In 1998, the infant mortality rate was 7.2 overall, 6.0 for white infants, and 14.3 for black infants.

For children older than 1 year of age, the overall decline in mortality during the 20th century has been spectacular. In 1900, >3 in 100 children died between their first and 20th birthday; today, **

They certainly weren't "people", based on your corporate definition. So if they're not people, why would you care what happens to them?

socialism "means we need to care for all in a socialised manner"

and you libs call us morons? at least i know what it means to be a conservative...what exactly does that "dr" stand for anyway, f?

i'm not really sure what you mean by "reveal" myself...i have said several times that i'm a public high school teacher, which, i assert gives me special insight into educational issues

i definitely don't climb as much as i'd like, but i have posted a link to youtube; it sucks now because they deleted the music for "copyright" reasons (which, by the way, i think is stupid...i totally support artists' complaints about illegally downloading music--they should be paid for their artistic property--but i know i've found a lot of great music on youtube that i then bought from itunes and i have to believe that a lot of other people have, too, so we're actually giving artists free advertising), anyway, here's the link again in case you're that curious:

Doctor F heal thyself. So how many pills are you taking per day now? And who's paying for them?

Plus you'll need to post an image of your drivers license so we can all
google to see if 'Dr' really should precede your name.

Anyway lets do some more refreshing on the Lib's and Sarah Palin this time.

This is one of the reasons why the left hates Sarah Palin. She is not only
very beautiful, but she is unconsciously so, making her alluring to the
point that they can’t think straight about her. They have to hate her to
keep from lusting for her. The guys on the Right, on the other hand, just
go ahead and admit that she’s hot, and get on with their lives. It’s pretty
sad that leftist men have to go to such great lengths to disguise their
masculinity; hiding it under all kinds of perversions and distractions.
it’s also sad that they have reached the point where they believe they have
to destroy something this beautiful if they can’t have it for their own.
Lying to oneself is worse than lying to others, especially when it comes to
nature and healthy responses.

For a politician, Sarah is one of the better looking.

However, I, unlike dumb-asses, don't vote according to how politicians look, I vote according to how they have helped the folks they represent.

Face it, Sarah is not concerned about the folks she represents--remember, she quit her governorship. Those on the right can slice it anyway they want to condone that move, but the fact is: She Quit for herself, not to help the folks who voted for her.

Oh, and she knows squat about politics. Remember her answer about the Bush Doctrine? You should be embarrassed for her, like a beauty contestant who can't answer a simple question.

If you say so Lois...impressive that a person would post 18,000 on a climbing site when she doesn't climb.

It is also impressive that same person continue to post unabated like a mad woman.
