Ontario wines - especially reds - are appallingly bad. Except for our ice wines, which are world class.
Most ice wines are white - made from Vidal.
But the nouveau ice wine is pink - made from Cab Franc, I shlt you knott. At the duty free last night, the cute dirty blonde gave me and my dad extra free tastes. How does he do it?

Didn't know there was pink! The Bro-in-law-from-Barrie brings us the likes
of Inniskillen whenever he comes down. It is quite drinkable, n'est ce pas?

Why Friday night only?
It's Tuesday tonight and I'm drunk. I think.
Well, at least more drunk than I usually are. I can still spell.
I'm not drunk very often.
Actually, I can count on my fingers when I'm drunk each year.
Even using one hand only.
Don't need my toes for it.
But tonight. I am. I think.
Three, no four, beers and a coffee Dom Benedictine.
Being a woman I don't need all that many beers to get drunk.
And not used to drink more than one beer.
My big problem is that on the restaurant the tables where we sat were on a ledge. Not a very visible ledge.
I didn't think about that. Being on a business trip, it wasn't a familiar restaurant.
When I got up, I stepped out as it was flat.
So, I fell.
It's probably ok. I hope.
If it wasn't for the sciatica and the herniated disc I'm having rather big problems with.
Tomorrow will be the moment of truth.
Many many years ago, I made 1.5 half somersault when I was supposed to do a double. Today I'm paying the price of that.
Actually, falling on a stupid little ledge on a restaurant isn't an option.
So... the conclusion is... sh#t.

Oh, no Lolli, hope with a little rest you'll be OK. Hey, Michael broke an ankle once just stepping off a curb (kerb in Europe?). Take care, Phyl

Hi Phyl. Thanks.
I hope it's all alright. Isn't it odd, how it's those small unsignificant things that can be so devastaing sometimes?

Lollie! Oh Schist! Reading about your fall awoke recent memories.
I took a similar fall while in Maui a few weeks back, except it was broad daylight & I was not drinking. After whale-watching, I missed a 4 Cm. curb, turned my ankle and did a full body-extension face-plant onto asphalt.
Heidi thought I'd had a heart-attack. I was able to stand & walk away------ after a few seconds of gathering myself.
I had minor cuts on my forehead, mostly from my sunglasses, which bent, but did not shatter, and a really-sore left foot, which developed great bruises, but did not limit my outdoor fun (much) for the next 5 days. It's still sore as hell, but getting better every day.
I recall trying to drink the injury well that night!
Best Wishes!

But, Lolli, were you able to spell in Swedish?
For you highbrow drinkers the esteemed Huntington Library has this prestigious offering...
That's for those of us not named Christopher Plummer, who I saw last week.
What a braggart, he was going on about his drinking buddies Dylan Thomas
and Richard Burton.

Hi Lollie! It says Fri night, but that's just for the rule following crowd. Most of us aren't into THAT, anyway.....I'm getting drunk and it's only Wednesday afternoon. HAAAAA.
It's all good, I reckon.
Guinness.....Pete's still a cave crawling wanker.
Not climbing cuz the rocks here are small and far flung. A bit cold, too.

Fritz, ouch. You've must've fallen like a log!
I have a sore and stiff shoulder today, it seems as nothing else was affected. Pleased.

It snowed like crazy here today! It really *IS* the Great White North.
I couldn't resist - I made myself a margarita using SNOW.
Lollie, how are you feeling today then?

Lollie! Glad to see you did not suffer many "ill-effects" from your fall.
I've done some tree-cutting-----& I did fall "like a log!"
I watched the ground rushing up at me, as I attempted to block the fall with my arms.
I'm glad we are both "lucky in falls!"

Fried-again on Friday night & watching the speech-part of the Olympic-opening ceremony.
The NBC commentardoes seem to be a little high & biased themselves, although we thought the Russki's ran a fine opening program.
The NBC boyz watched the 3 minute history of early Russia, and compressed 2,500 years to 1,000 years.
Of course it was free Network TV & I get what I pay for---or not.
Sluuuuup.
No climbing this weekend, since it is snowing hard here in Idontno's low desert.

Man, I wish I had just done that just once in any of my northern homes.
What an oversight...
Meh.
