It appears that "The Games Climbers Play" (Lito Tejada-Flores) needs to be updated.

Edit: Does anyone else see the thread title as "ST seeks ACTUAL Climber" (underscoring the "ST") when it pops up?

I've seen seven in action and have even done it once or twice myself...climbed with women that I have no romantic interest in.

Daphne just needs to find the right guy!

Sooze kinda-sorta has already...LOL But so far, I have not heard too many like Sooze had described on page 2.

This is funny.. So many with nothing to say toward the topic....

In my guiding experience, I've been used a few times by women who either didn't wish to deal with guy climbing partners who might have ulterior motives, or just chose to climb with me for other practical/fun/educational reasons.

I've been sorta surprised the number hasn't been greater and definitely more married than single women, so I would guess a lot of ladies find somebody between 1 and 10 on Melissa's List. Perhaps the only thing worse than being hit on is paying!

James, most of us have climbed with 1-7 at least once or twice. Finding steady partners is what I'm talking about.

Locker, you are so right. When I think of the postings I have seen about partnerships that really work, I remember each and every poster managing to convey how truly appreciative and grateful they are for having found a partner who is compatible. It seems as if, to my remembering, that no one takes a good partner for granted. Whatever combination of sexes is involved. And maybe this thread is a good opportunity for some who have an amazing partner to thank them for being around. Like Bluering did about his wife.

And maybe this thread is a good opportunity for some who have an amazing partner to thank them for being around.

Partners are what it's all about. A lot of what we get out of climbing is a sense of personal accomplishment, and there's nothing wrong with that, but those accomplishments would be empty without the guy at the other end of the rope. Getting through difficult things with your partner's help, and helping your partner when s/he is in the wringer, and then sharing the joy together afterward... It just doesn't get any better than that.

So, here's a salute to one of the best...

Apologies to all for not sticking to the topic of how hard it is to find a partner if you're a SF, but Daphne did invite us to offer thanks to great partners.

It's interesting how thread author asks one person to remove post when it is deemed to be off topic, but when other posters do the same, no request is made.

This is a conspiracy, and Perez intends to get to the bottom of this.

Eric, Not South Early Winters couloir, one on the NW Face of North Gardner Mountain. I imagine Feck will post some pics over on cc.com. Some seriously badass skiing went down this past weekend in the Cascades -- not that I had any part in that.

Russ Walling, you posted this. What does it mean exactly?

Mel writes: On that note, my some of my first gym partners were a group of gay French guys

That statement seems a bit redundant.

See...another girl looking to climb. You guys still claiming it's easy to find a partner?

Problem crosses Forums....

She posts in a subforum that hardly anyone reads and after only a day you're saying this proves your point? The post you link to was just made 6 hours ago.

Kinda late to be trying to firm up a partner for Memorial Day Weekend--most people already have plans. A male climber posting a similar request would probably receive even less interest.

She's not just looking for any old partner either, but someone who is "solid, mellow, easy-to-get-along" and it would be "nice" if he leads 5.11-5.12 so he can set up top ropes for her in that range (she only leads 5.8-5.9). No pressure there!

Help me understand what your complaint is here.

Is it that a climber who is SINGLE FEMALE climber has more trouble finding partners than a single male, or that there should be single male climbers falling all over themselves for her? Which is it? That female climbers are treated unfairly, or that they aren't getting treated "special" enough?

subforum = Mountain Project's special subforum just for finding partners in Arizona and New Mexico. It does not receive much traffic--its only visible to someone who is specifically searching for a partner in Arizona or New Mexico
