No offense taken Michelle…

I was curious if your grandfather was a Scientologist or a Mormon?

The two organizations aren’t affiliated. Mormon temple garments aren’t really more expensive than common store bought undergarments and there is no charge for performing the ceremony (beyond having the garments.)

Oh, I see you wrote “L Ron” so apparently your grandfather was a Scientologist. I don’t know a great deal about the inner workings of Scientology, their clothing or ceremonies. I read about two thirds of Dianetics but it didn’t go into rites and rituals as I remember. 

Best regards!

this is why the cult thing started,

the endless bullcrap,

this is why there is the divide,

an apathy towards the stupidity of the general pubic,

a welcome isolation from moronic and unfounded criticism,

So what would you call well founded and credible criticism of the COS? Does it exist?

Seems like every ex-member that criticizes them in the media gets called a liar by the COS.

Same story, over and over...

what the hell was he doing on Super topo in the first place?

spider savage, a longtime rockclimber, route developer and ski mountaineer, has one hell of a lot more business being on supertopo than "bruce kay, gym climber".

but i don't think you've addressed my points, chris, and i think they're reasonable. you don't fit the timeline of having been in on scientology since the beginning, which i believe was 1952.

I say I am a founding Scientologist because the movement is many times larger now than when I started. It is also a statement of responsibility. I've worked to help build this organization in many ways along with thousands of others.

Scientology offers a new paradigm for a much better life for all of us. The practical philosophy, is a great improvement over past values of religious dogma or of psychological theories coming out of universities over the last 100 years or so.

It is about you as an individual and how you can do better and help others to do better in life.

I and my friends want to GIVE you this knowledge. We want you to have it. To enjoy life more.

You can look for yourself or listen to the crazy alarming crap that people publish on the internet or in tabloids.

There are a few crazy people in the world who definitely do NOT want you to be smarter, more able, more happy. Fvck 'em!

Here's another short vid. About 1/3rd of the people in this one are personal friends of mine, come to my house, etc. The girl who want's to wear the Scientology pin is a friend of one of my daughters. I've taken her climbing at Stoney Point too.

EDIT: It would be fun to do a video like this about rock climbers.

Locker,

Yes.

Free online courses at www.Scientology.org

All books are in the library.

You can form a co-op with others who are interested. The Church is very happy to support these. They are called Dianetics Counselling Groups.

Going all the way up the line requires many hours of work, support staff, buildings and facilities.

Legend has it Jesus could heal people for free just like that. *snap*

Hubbard could fix you up in a week or two in a few hours a day.

He couldn't do everyone so he figured out ways the people could get together and fix-up each others. It was a long strange trip but here we are. It's not easy but it works pretty damn good.

Guys, I have already answered both of your questions. However, you are not satisfied.

The easiest thing would be for you to just believe whatever you find on the Internet.

Bruce - I could show you a blank piece of paper listing all actual harm Scientology has caused. You could go to the Scientology web site and explore for all the good stuff we have done. Not what you want to hear though.

Locker - You're kickin' my ass dude. Money. Serious subject for some people. I just want enough to pay my bills, finish my Scientology classes, and go hang in the Valley for a few months a year. I've donated huge money (by some people's standards) and I've gotten every penny and much more back in satisfaction. Some folks are materialistic and don't get the money for knowledge deal. How about college? I get people coming to me for work who paid $80,000 for some bullshit degree and they can't even fuc'in spell. Do a study class in Scientology for $2,000 bucks and skip the 80 grand college degree. Worked good for me. You seem to be retired and happy for a bag-o-weed. Good for you, Makes you feel good. I liked the high okay but the fogginess afterward sucked. Pretty much felt foggy all the time. Add up all you've spent on weed in the last ten years? What percentage of your income? Don't answer. Just something to think about. Money for what? Feeling good. Sounds fair to me.

the funny thing is that the skeptics are the ones that end up in the church,

the people who do not post on this thread have no interest either way,

they just go on in life, they are happy the way they are

as a Disseminatior, when i heard the endless questioning about rumors in the paper or from their friends, i knew i could get the sucker down there and improve my stats.

because if they are talking with you for a few seconds, you know you have a chance.

but most people politely walk away without an exchange on the subject and you can't kidnap them, so life moves on,

so asking about money and bad trips at least means that you might be somewhat curious.

the problem is most folks want a one paragraph explanation of exactly how the tech works and how it can make them really happy,

the problem is that L Ron wrote about 10 billion words on the subject so it takes a while to learn everything,

Sometimes it's worth coming at it from another angle.

So, what's right with Scientology?

remember the line

"what is true for you in scientology and dianetics is what you have observed for yourself"

translation: if you don't get this stuff, be truthful about it and move on to something you connect with, we do not want to keep you into something if it is not working for you,

you need a tough defense with all the world BS constantly attacking you,

Bruce, don't even bother asking anymore. All you're gonna get from him is suggestions to come and see for yourself, drink the kool aid.
