I think you're right. It's like a trender style, and not functional at all.
How else would you explain this:
Getting in touch with their inner interior decorator self, a little at a time. It's OK. You can just peek out of the closet if you like, you don't have to come out all at once.
Or maybe the camoflauge serves a function, like if it falls out of your truck, you won't be able to find it. That'd be a real handy feature.
