58 and downward bound, through the climbing grades that is. I'd climb more but i bore even myself after a few days of the meager caliber of climbs i now do. Keep telling myself im going to get in shape. Note to self-listen.

Hey RGold,
That's some great mileage you've had on that red shirt !
The original was a Joe Brown wool shirt made for climbing on Cloggy in a downpour. Poor thing, by 2010 or so you can see that the collar, sleeves and pockets have all fallen off and the torso is all that's left. It might have a brief future as a Joe Brown halter top, but I doubt Joe would approve and, even as a fashion-forward senior citizen, that might be over the line for me.

many quotable lines in this thread, but with the 60's decade fast approaching for me...

A couple of weeks ago I was visiting a friend in Indianapolis with my Grandson Xavier. Thom asked if we would mind a visit with his Mother and on the way there I asked how old she was knowing Thom is 72. He told her as much and she asked me "Can you keep a secret?" Yes I replied , she replied "So can I" :0) Thought that was a pretty good answer.

Come on, young ones, we know you are lurking, and we desperately need you to bring down the median age so Chris' advertisers will renew their ads!

Just turned 36. That should pull the median down slightly (decimal points).

I'll be eligible to purchase a Golden Turkey (as, I believe, jstan calls it) on Father's Day. I'll be 62.

11 to 78 is a pretty wide range of generations!
Maybe that explains some of the arguing...
