Obama will likely win the electoral college and thus maintain office, but lose the popular vote.
If that happens, it will be the first time ever that an incumbent has managed to do that. Lots of "firsts" with this guy, you gotta hand him that.

yes Bush did do that, but only against Gore in 2000
as the incumbent in 2004 against Kerry, he won both the popular and electorals
