rottingjohnson - why make irrelevant, incompetent and immaterial statements here when you could be doing your favorite activity of surfing for smurf-berrys?.

Reporting from Sacramento — Gov.-elect Jerry Brown, who famously slept on a mattress on the floor when he was governor the first time, has picked out an upscale loft only blocks from the Capitol as his home away from home in Sacramento.

Ever careful to nurture the incoming governor's franchise on frugality, Brown's campaign staff declined to say how much he would pay for the 1,450-square-foot apartment. A similar-sized unit was listed online for about $2,300 a month.

"It's still a very modest residence for the governor" of the nation's most populous state, said Mark Friedman, one of the building's developers.

Brown's fondness for low-budget living has long been interwoven with his political persona. During his governorship in the 1970s, there was the sparsely furnished bachelor pad and the blue Plymouth he drove, having spurned a state car. As Oakland mayor, he lived in a communal loft with roommates who included a recovering drug addict. He later moved with Gust into a loft in a downtrodden part of the city.

Gotta love this guy. Thats what you get when you get someone who trained as a jesuit priest.

Funny sh#t..the only reason you make what do is because of great unions and the people willing to fight for fair pay and benefits.

Also..I'm a liberal and never ask your ass on anyone else for a free lunch.

Dr. F...I'll sing his accomplishments...pretty impressive for two year president and an hostile opposing party.

"A stunt man minimum wage is about 800 dollars a day (screen actors guild minimum wage) so around 100 dollars and hour.

Segue to 1,000 posts of LEB ranting about non-existent welfare queens in Cadillacs. Kind of ironic, given her current work.

If you believe a prescription will harm the patient, or is unnecessary, isn't it unethical to write it? The nurses' college and union would surely back you up on that.

Whatever your fantasies about other groups, your federal government is probably obligated by treaty to provide medical care to the native Americans you care for. That is, your employer, or at least the ultimate source of the money with which you are paid. You've in fact waxed loquacious about the quality of care you can provide within a supposedly "socialized" (i.e. single payer) system.

The hypothesis that the federal government is drugging people to control them and their behaviour, and create dependencies - essentially your thesis - is loonier than anything klimmer could dream up. And if there's the slightest bit of truth to it, you're a co-conspirator. Shouldn't brave LEB being blowing the whistle on such corruption and evil?

Then, after a landmark legal ruling, the ground began to shift.

The case grew out of a campaign in the early 1980s under President Reagan to reduce SSI rolls.

AHA! From the article, we find the root cause, which we might typify as REPUBLICAN DEATH PANELS. The Supreme Court had to intervene. Sheesh!

I cannot begin to tell you the enormous number of children I see everyday in practice who are put on these drugs. Often the child exhibits fairly normal rambunctious behavior that is typical of all children but esp boys. It is like NBD but they slap the kids on these meds and I have pressure put on me to renew them.

It is hard for me to question the judgment of the psychiatrist who says the kid needs all these drugs. He (or she) is the expert.

LEB, you can't have it both ways. I didn't realize you had a medicaide practice in PA, which is the group that is being discussed in the article.

I do believe in walking a mile in my ideological opponents shoes. That way, I'm a mile away, and I have their shoes!

The program as described (I was only able to read 7 pages) is clearly an abuse, and it ought to be changed, but it is the result of the GOP DEATH PANEL approach to medicine and life, which is the root cause. (as described in the article.

Matthew, you were suspended/banned at least once before, about a year ago. If I remember rightly, as a result of a contretemps with Russ or maybe Mimi. You weren't allowed to resume posting until June 2010.
