"But who are you referring to?"
---------------------------------------------

I believe it would be best to leave it with not mentioning anyone in particular. Those specific individuals must certainly know who they are as there were more than one on this thread that brought up the validity of Rick's certification, experience and performance as a professional mountain guide.

For the rest of your responses since my post, it stands as is. The man is one hard and proven individual. He will certainly drop everything when called upon by anyone that he calls his friend and do whatever it takes to assist them, anytime, anywhere for any reason. No questions asked. He has done so for me on several occasions when I needed some assistance with some route beta and rock climbing instruction. Free of charge.

As I stated, this is the internet for god's sake. If anyone deems it necessary to characterize anyone by anything they write on any social media web site, than it is they that need to have their "sanity" evaluated. Especially some here that spend so much of their precious time on earth, posting complete "poo poo" about the most absurd issues.

Now, can some of you deep thinking politically minded climbers here on this and the other political threads, please, please start posting some TR's of all your trips in the mountains for us that are not as fortunate to get out as often as you all supposedly do. If you all were to spend one tenth of the energy you do on these baseless political threads posting TR's, maybe Supertopo would return to being the climbing website I enjoyed lurking on for over ten years. Not some late night second rate cable talk show equivalent that it has come to be lately. Pretty sad that my only two posts here are what they are.

J.Tisdale Jr.

edit: My Profile photo is of myself and my daughter on the Whitney Trip that Rick led us on which by the way he took with my camera. Still is one of the most memorable that my daughter and I have had together to date.

Bruce, what you fail to understand is that there is a long history here. You want everything now. It often doesn't work that way.

Hey JTis do you know I tried to encourage The Chief to post up TRs about his climbing so we could see a non lunatic side of him. He thought I was threatening him and posted up his military cred instead. He has NO TRs posted. We are not on this thread here to praise his military service nor his climbing acumen or guide professionalism. We are discussing or arguing if you will about a particular issue. Only Chiefs words are of concern not his deeds. Your stance that it's just words on the net so no biggie isn't exactly correct. Any given community cyber or real should stand up to the abhorrent behavior of the clan fringe. The Chief has reaped what he has sown.

By the way your glowing praise of his willingness to jump up and be of service is nice and all but most of us even the most hate filled like me would do the same even for a loon like the Chief

He is top notch through and through.

No

He's a fu cking POS

Nice ball-cupping form though, but I wonder why you'd bother...he's destroyed his own name here and some guy making his first post about how soft and smooth his sac is will never change that.

Having worked with gang members, my understanding of extremists is that pushing their buttons only makes things worse. Empathy is about the only thing that I have found that helps with those who are reachable. Otherwise you just push them into extremes. Some aren't reachable so you have to ask yourself if you really want to set them off. Others are entirely reachable. There is basic decency there, but it is clouded by things like PTSD, serious trauma including childhood trauma, and or just growing up in a tough life.

My friend who was a POW in Vietnam is a prime example. He was raised by a very tough, distant and angry alcoholic father, and then ended up a POW in Vietnam. After Vietnam he rode with the Hells Angels. So he has tough things to overcome, and yet there is a deep desire on his part to be of service. His service doesn't excuse some of his behavior, but it might cause one to be more willing to look a little deeper, rather then like a cat with a mouse.

why is it that some, many, threads eventually become about one person?

this thread is not about the chief

it is not about his guiding, climbing, or military ability

it IS about the stupid racist deadbeat cowboy and him sucking off the government teat

why is it about the chief, WHY?

You misunderstood me Bruce. I didn't mean that someones history is to long to share it. I meant that there is a long history of his experience having been shared, and some pissing on it.

It's about that sackoshit Bundy, and I don't mean Ted either.

whats pissing off some folks is that to them it is about a whole lot more then just Bundy. Its about government overreach. They just aren't very good at expressing themselves and many of them have a history of bagging on liberals causes, such as the occupy movement, so that just adds to the noise.

If my post is correct Philo, then where is your empathy? Why do you continue to harass people rather then try and express what they mean, so that communication can continue.

Base did your fingertip access of all U.S. wells direct you to the other Nevada oil fields besides RR valley? Though few, there are others. By the way, whats the industry scuttlebutt on Noble's oil play in Elko county?

. John M I tried, i really tried Years ago I tried and tried and tried.
After enough time dealing with folks who utilize continued deliberate ignorance and out right lies in spite of being repeatedly shown the verifiable facts disproving their usually specious arguments I find myself in meager supply of empathy.

Sara palin just got more headlines for bragging that she would waterboard terrorists if she was in charge. I wonder if she would waterboard this guy to see what he is up to? Or if she only meant raghead terrorists?

"I can't imagine ANYONE doing that sort of thing for FREE..."

-------------------------------------------------------------

Nor could I ever imagine sending my rock shoes or mountaineering boots, postage due, to a boot cobbler and expect them to repair them for, FREE. Or do you accept those type orders on a regular basis, Mr. Locker?

J. Tisdale Jr.

Edit: Scanning through the various profiles of the posters on this and some of the other "OT" threads, many of them, Mr. Norton, have not one single TR to their name. Many of those individuals have no photo's. Some that do have photos, have absolutely nothing to do with climbing or mountaineering. Just plain nasty expose's of total Ad Hominem nonsense. Just an observation that is rather stunning to say the least.
