Categorically no.
What does that mean, "categorically?"
And should it have a comma in there?
I don't know of any singin' Gerry Lopez outta Colorado.
Is this a trick question about baby carriers?

I can't remember who it is, but somebody that posts on this forum knew Barris personally or was it Big Daddy Roth?
Do I remember, categorically not.
Ernie "Big Cat" Ladd had a gym in CV after he turned to wrestling. I know it's true but I cannot find any evidence. I wonder if the FBI has a dose?
It was hard not to recognize Ernie, but then he was a big cat.

I don't know if Lopez also liked to ski, but after the film Island Magic was in the can, filmer and filmee ended up in Aspen at least for a while.
Funny thing though Jerry got it a little bit confused. Orly, not Orley.

What was said?
Who said what?
Who asked, "Say what?"
The Grinch, that's who.
"The proper word is 'categorical'," he said categorically.

An answer to a love letter from Black Diamond
QC LAB
Before any piece of Black Diamond gear makes it on to the shelves, it spends months,
sometimes years getting put through the wringer by our team of Quality Control engineers
Through extensive and meticulous testing, both in the lab and in the field, the QC Lab team
help ensure that you can count on your BD gear to be as durable, reliable and as strong as
possible every time you head into the mountains or out to the crags. Our QC Lab posts aimto **

that is actually actionable and I have been a carrier, an ad-hock unpaid, sales man of all things Black Diamond since the Great Pacific Iron Works Days!,
The back pack that had carried the name the STONE 45 ROPE BAG is so weakly designed, that it rises to the level of CRIMINALLY NEGLIGENCE!
There is no full strength anything,
the ribbons of rolled 1.5 mil flat tape( if they Are that wide?) are so weakly tacked into the bag that they are unsafe to use as tool loops never mind holding skis. The same exact condition of two insultingly only "darted"to the top of the pack grab loops. Darted is the term used for a temporary Sticthused to show the tailor where to make alterations while working on a piece.
When I called to ask if I could get some specific information as to pull strengths and failure rates of the "?"Grab Loops & ?? Tool Loops - I was told they did not have them the pack was never tested, SEE ABOVE - the diameter of the ribbons? (Was Proprietary?)
And the pack Was Not A Climbing Pack!,?.
The statement contradicts the entire premiss of the company's products and the above statement.
The designation of the STONE 45 then Changed on the BD e-store. The designation Rope Bag vanished but you can still find it at other sites.
The rant I gave them was as this one is straight from the best dancer of the vertical who ever represented their gear for free, I gave Black Diamond products as birthday presents and for Christmas gifts a onsey for a baby and untold numbers of 'biners and fanny packs,Schawg I bought & paid for and gave away to climbers I took climbing,
I am not Lynn Hill Or John Long (is it Jon or John ?) I have never sought a sponsorship, although marmot hooked me up with the turquoise & 'Sunflower' Alpinist jacket in ??79-80??
I will not take any legal action that's no way to roll but I have been ROBBED. And I will Have My Say! This piece of shjt back pack is a an insult and given what their bull shjt reads and the criminal response I received on the phone, they blocked me from leaving a review (never mind just deleting it. After the fact, )I have set in motion a play of action. The N0oBs will know and while there is no up side to my action the climbing community is being churned
There is no storm flap to protect the zipper that is one the outside of the pack body. So it is exposed to the elements, and after the process of Physical work, takes hold the zipper will leak. There should be two storm flaps, inside and out. The storm flaps should be full length, lined with Velcro so that the pack can be closed, that way as well as the zipper. This design would also provide a gasket like feature that would inhibit the tendency for the contents
From spilling out.
The bottom of the pack is double lined but two short, causing there to be a straight seam at the point that rubs against the climbers back , the highest wear spot on the pack has a seam that is exposed to constant rubbing and will fill with dirt causing failure. There is some sort of 2cents worth of worthless fibrous padding sandwiched between the bottom layers instead of the needed Ensolite type foam that has been added to packs for 40 years,
I have a Dolt bag that I may break out, it is my helmet storage bag and has an Ensolite type removable pad .the old Dolt bowling ball carrying bag with full strength two inch flat black seat belt webbing . Two lengths that wrap around the pack with on side rigged with Meteal slide to facilitate the straps as back pack straps or not, I have never moved the slides, the herringbone seat belt webbing is pristine and still supple.
Beyond the no solid full strength loops the pack has an un-protected zipper that only barely gets to the bottom of the pack 4.5 inches away from bottom as compared to 2 inches that the exact same design The North Face pack has the TNF pack was put out twenty plus years ago.
Then in the one field test the
Should I re post this rant as a thread ?

Except for USC winning, it was a good FB day.
10:00 Chargers
1:00 49ers
5:30 Broncos
Sneffles from Blue Lakes is a lot more challenging than the normal way....much longer (7 miles one way) and way more vertical gain (5,000 ft.). Good trail to a 13,000 pass and then 1,150 vertical of third class scrambling.
Two years ago, when I turned 70, I tagged the summit in a few minutes over 3 hrs. Today I had my mojo going and clocked in at 2 hrs 52 minutes.
There's a nice bottle of wine for anyone here over 60 who beats that time.

I did stay in and watch Brady and the Patriots beat the Jacskson. Ville cats of some kind 51 to 17, I had it on rewind as I talked to the spawner :
I think I don't at the moment while listening to the 84 year young one in my life-
Makes me multi tasking misery alone but on the phone. . .
I then at The Point It was 37 to 10 I switched to watch jets Philli game where the eagles
Put shame to the grounded planes.

,oh your so immature stop that silliness, nwhile the place that is the#1.gym in that swell state is where I once worked for no pay, mane later had mid night rodevo's with the Docs daughter at the tennis center now it's the wall.
Then I saw a post from the guy who felt that a leg wrap and waist, not a Hip belay
( differing only good for top rope out of balance heavier ire climber who you suspect may need some Tight rope, rope aid. The thigh wrap is old school lock-off paired with a. Munter hitch or a stitch plate. ) belay was not a belay. And I just puffed and did not share or are that it wigged him out.
They are such weenies of pure living health nuts. [Click to View YouTube Video]

|'m Looking for a climbing partner at the - Blha- Blah- gym in Fairfield.
I work nearby so I can go there any weekday night. I'm interested in leading and building endurance,
also working on some harder routes. It's just indoors so I don't care about your level,
as long as you're a competent belayer and keep your shirt on.
If you climb outdoors maybe we can partner for the Gunks and other local crags.
Cheers,

One thing I want to throw out there The way many started and continue to to climb is responsibly.
Doing what is necessary thinking and adjusting for the changing serious circumstances to limit consequences.
Also no way is any one always perfect which cuts both ways.
I recently gave some one what was a terrible belay.
That person will never climb with me again.
I could make excuses but it is not going to change his mind.
More important to recognize that t screwed up and try to not let it happen again.
Not that that matters nine out of ten climbers, today, would not climb with me again myself ? if it happened to me I would understand but I come from a background where like the old pictures it was a less perfect world. As long as we shared the walk out it was okay.
lot of long toothed climbers , Who were 1st belayed at Boy Scouts
Or hip belayed with the rope a twisted gold line wrapped around their waist have a healthy but more tolerant expectations of a a bit of slack in in the system and are not always do over thinking and stressing about minutiae the way it is today.
Waist wraps and slack ropes apparently non existent belays given. thru the big loop of an unrecognized device, was a regular day at the cliff, way back.
As to the shirt comment ? Hmmm ?
It was Nj swamp 100° degrees and I may have changed shirts at the end of the day!
The climbing I've showed before it is 5.3d for 60 feet and then it gets real. I showed him
the lines that are in a row going G to r to g rated for protection.
I explained them as fair as I could the G rated corner capped with a roof , the name I was told was Embers Only I led its mirror corner using the roof corner/ crack, for my feet pushing out the overhang the other way . The Flames route 5.9+ g 8/15
He had said no he did not like roofs or over hangs and began getting defensive I did not notice at first.
But as he choose to lead Stress Test, the R route. Recently given a simonizing, drawing him to it. This was my hope and I wanted it to be an onsight and grade confirmation. At thirteen feet before the first grassy ledge, he squawked at moving left to the ledge.
With a sphincter squeezed croak "that's a ground fall" ,
He was tremering.and starting to quake so I calmed him, and had him come down and start up Low Stress 5.7/8 g, but he had no eye for less cleaned rock and went off route into the mank. I told him if he had finished it it sound have been a first ascent.
He seathed a bit, I took a hit no passes.
I did not look for approval or rejection I ignored his response and began to tight rope him.
When he was up about thirty feet on top rope I was clamping his tight rope ascent using a Munter and a loop wrapped 'round my thigh but from where he was and the way he took it . . . .
My only hint that it went so bad at the time was a strange change to my bag. After this strangly
Slow end to a day in withering heat he wanted to show me some rock in Wayne, 29,Minutes farther west into the swamp state and I was cooked and should have said yes to address what he had miss perceived. I should have asked if it was ok risk wise did it bother him if I smoked , it did and then he thought my belay , was it bad or worse .[Click to View YouTube Video]
Then over the next three weeks I read on the web that I did not know how to belay and it kept going when I learned to never climb with some one who sits to belay . . .

Willy Poor Boy / Bad Luck Willy
Lyrics: Robert Hunter
Music: Robert Hunter
From Robert Hunter's performing repertoire, but no recordings issued. It is called "Bad Luck Willy" in some setlists. The way it is sung in many of the version I've heard. I have one cherished cassette tape of 11/12/80 Toads, Place ,New Haven, Ct
The kind of face just a mother would love
The kind of place where they give you a shove
and you wake in the morning in traction or worse,
one of those situations you can never rehearse
The kind of a bastard that Hell would reject
punched out your teetch and put a crease in your neck
Whoa, Willy poor boy
Out of luck today
Whoa, bad-luck Willy
What you got to say?
I'll give your regards to the beautiful girls
while you're getting patched up and back in the world
I'll see that your wife gets plenty of love
and any other thing that I can think of
'Cause I am your friend and I'm glad to oblige
I checked out the threads and they're about my size
Whoa, Willy poor boy
Out of luck today
Whoa, bad-luck Willy
What you got to say?
When you are all mended and back home again
I know you'll always remember your friend
Although you can't talk, only gargle and wink
hey, Willy poor boy, I know what you think:
A friend in trouble is a friend indeed
and what you got here is a firend in need
Whoa, Willy poor boy
Out of luck today
Whoa, bad-luck Willy
What you got to say?
