Daphnae does a full tork dyno up to the finger ledge>

Jaybro is stunned in disbelief>

this guy got a little too close to the power lines,

his hair caught on fire and he went over the brink, screaming like a banchee,

cracks everywhere ya look>

if i can get a couple of hydraulic jacks underneath this big mama,

then we can have a trundle party supreme.

maybe clear out the runway ramp so it can get going,

drill it and re inforce it with concrete and re bar so it does not break up,

i bet it would easily reach hwy 67 and take out a semi,

meanwhile, back at Camp Dos Picos, which was a lush paradise full of groovy people and dogs that did not bark at night,

they had a Music Festival in the park this weekend, so as i was hiking around the park, i got to listen to some cool music from a CSN&Y band,
and everybody is good down south, because there are so many frickin bands!

even had a little stream runing thru camp>

Mighty hiker - the entire county sits on a massive granite batholith, which manifests itself mostly as bedrock for the hills, but is also exposed all over the place as small crags and outcrops. The boulders are pieces of the exposed batholith which have broken off and weathered into somewhat rounded shapes. The type of granite Mt Woodson is made of is unique enough that geologists call it MT Woodson granite-diorite, and thats about as much as i can tell you.

The "ball cupping reunion" t shirt should have a credit to Peter Campos for taking the picture that the image was lifted from. Thats (left to right) Peter Campos, Ron Amick, Rick Allenby, making good use of the afternoon sun at the vomirtorium. Gosh, how did our chalk bags get like that...

ill post the pic if i can find it

Taken from: http://www.vcstar.com/news/2009/aug/19/steve-muse-to-discuss-his-historic-climb/...

"The remarkable journey of Steve Muse, a quadriplegic who climbed Yosemite’s El Capitan with the help of a Ventura County support crew, highlights a discussion and slide show on Saturday in Westlake Village.

The event Saturday evening takes place at Boulderdash Indoor Rock Climbing, which supplied Muse’s support crew.

Boulderdash is much more than just a venue to Muse; the adventurer was helping to build the climbing walls at Boulderdash before a car accident in 2004 left him with a spinal cord injury. He has come far since then.

"Steve was the first quadriplegic to climb El Capitan in Yosemite via our chosen route — the Zodiac,” said Tommy Thompson of Cardiff, Calif., who worked with Muse building the Boulderdash walls...Muse is one of the bravest men he knows, Thompson added. "He had the courage and commitment to leave the security of his wheelchair for a total of eight days,” he said. "Steve is an inspiration.”

Here, Steve Muse scales El Capitan prior to the 2004 car accident that left him essen-tially a quadri-plegic...

In this photo illustration, Steve Muse is shown at far left, with Tommy Thompson, and center, on the recent climb. At right, Christiaan Luneberg mugs for the camera...

Gary McCay and Steve Muse...

Steve Muse had contacted me via email while putting this event together. He stated, "Hopefully I can get one of my bros. to come along so that I can at least get to the Painted Boulder, but if I stay down low on the hill I shouldn't need any assistance. I missed the last contest with much regret...I would like to be there to pretend I am still a climber and rub elbows with you all just the same and proudly wear my new tee-shirt!"

After that exchange with Steve I contacted Tom Donnely with the Access Fund and asked if there was any way of getting a key to Woodson to provide access for Mr. Muse. Shortly thereafter a key was ready to be picked up for just that! Thanks for your efforts Tom.

Mr. Muse, it couldn't have been a more beautiful day to have you back up on the mountain after all these years!

A day of quiet reflection. Pausing to consider all the unique moments of a very special weekend. Renewing old friendships, making new friends, perfect weather.......

Thank you Again Gary for all you and your friends and helpers did to pull this off. Too often we tick off an event and on to the next new thing. Taking time to remember climbs, smiles, the gift of people in our lives is worth taking a few minutes to think about before we race onward.

I love my new, colorful rope !!!! On Sunday morning we were discussing crack climbing and I think I was whining about the sometimes painful moments.....although I am determined to get better at this.

Scuffy, whose been cleaning up all morning, says "wait a minute......what size shoe do you wear Lynne"? and then disappears. He comes back minutes later with 3 pair of shoes in my size that are grate for climbing the crack. I chose the ones in the picture......Kaukulator's (sp ??) I love them and can't wait to give them a try on the crack that turned me back at Dixon Lake. Thanks Scuffy !!!

And thanks to all who helped pull this off and for those of you that turned out. What an Awesome event.

Edit: note how rope has flecks of yellow to co ordinate with shoes :DDD

Double Edit: Fabulous Pictures Everyone

Fun, fun, fun! Had a great time meeting a bunch of you wackos. It was fun to go from climb to climb and tie in with someone on belay that you've never met before.

Gary, thanks mucho for the organization, time, commitment and energy you put into this event. Although it takes everyone to make it happen, it always takes someone to get the ball rolling. Thanks again for doing that. It was nice to finally meet you. Maybe we'll actually go climbing one of these days!

To Lynne, You are the bomb! Thanks for opening up your home to a bunch of climbers, some of whom (like me) you'd never even met before! (Even though we are sorta neighbors.) You and your casa exude such a mellow, laid-back vibe that I felt instantly welcome and comfortable. (Oh, and those mango chutney quesadillas were tasty!)

Keep the pictures coming folks. Good times for sure!
