In 1991 I left my hometown in N. California and never looked back, moving to Texas and then on to Tucson in 1993. I have only seen a very small handful of my HS friends since we graduated in 1990, and I miss so many of my friends from that period of life.
Well today, I get to see THIS guy, Bill, who was my very best guy friend at Roseville HS, and I couldn't be more thrilled! It's been 23 years since we've seen each other and I suspect we will pick up where we left off...
:)
Enjoying Life last night... a nice little walk to Time Market with Rosie and Jefe... the temps were perfect for a walk and pizza dinner outdoors...

this thread helps me remember that these places are always out there, always perfect and clean and fine, no matter if I am tied to a chair, knots in my back burning as I lose myself in what seems to be unending supplication and grant-funded hara-kiri at the altar of esoteric knowledge and self-denial. these places, this life, it's all good if I can just remember that I control the lens through which I view it.

And we DID pick up where we left off. Bill hasn't changed a bit, and it was wonderful to show him a little part of downtown, introduce him to my best friends, and hear about his plans for the future and how our hometown has transformed over the years. Made me a tiny bit homesick, but also made me love Tucson even more. Esp the funky downtown area I live in, the summit of Mt. Lemmon only 45 minutes from my house, and my wonderful friends and family.

Met my friends on top of Lurking Fear on Saturday with margaritas and ice. They sure look happy.
Made it to the fair with our grandson on Sunday.
