Donald Trump!

From the article:

What does he think of the Republican frontrunner? “I love Donald Trump,” he said. “He’s a great Dickensian character. You know what I mean? There are certain people like Arnold, Babe Ruth, that are bigger than life. But I don’t know how that translates”—he let out a laugh—“to running the world.

So Norton.... if you say Stewart was on K2 then he is alright by me to stand at this campfire. Not that I have anything to say about who stands here.

Any climber can say anything about me that they wish to say.... I don't give a rats behind.

But it gets tiring and irritating to have people who post ZERO climbing content come on the TACO and make repeated personal attacks on people who do contribute. And these repeated personal attacks are just because some don't agree politically. Stewart started off doing this, in his oh so cute backhanded way. Lame, IMHO

Much like LEB, who was tossed for simply having opinions, she wasn't a climber so out she went.

It would be great to see some of Stewart on K2.

Every time I see the 'Ready for Donald?' in the Supertopo forum thread list it sticks in my craw like the ten day old rotted green intestinal slime of the bad oyster I retched out onto the 104 degree pavement by the corroded flea mart oyster stand I purchased it at.

I cannot nor will I ever be, Ready for Donald, that maniacal fat assed hypocritical heartless self serving rich slobbering piece of sh#t for brains racist opportunistic blow hard thug moron! And that's not saying half of how I really feel...

The wife and I have got our bags packed and the house up for sale... wake me up when this is all over, I'm going in the deep-freeze a for year and will find out at this time next year whether or not we will still be living in the United States or moving to Canada.

guyman & gary: The K2 thing was a well-intended joke & I wasn't the guy who made it - didn't you notice my post to rick? The rest of the climbing stuff is true - Daryl & I were friends from his earliest climbing days & also partners for years.

Having stated that, it's not my fault that you're too dumb to locate the climbing content that I've posted in the past. My most recent post was some thread about hitting pitons during a fall. Prior to that, it's been quite a while since, AS IVE ALREADY STATED, I generally choose to comment about politics.

This is a thread about Trump

Steve W's picture above reminds me of this "Article from a Canadian newspaper" that was floating around the internet a few years ago:

From The Manitoba Herald , Canada ;
by Clive Runnels, December 1st 2010

The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The recent actions of the Tea Party are prompting an exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they’ll soon be required to hunt, pray, and to agree with Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck.

Canadian border farmers say it’s not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal-rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night. “I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn,” said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield , whose acreage borders North Dakota . The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn’t have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?”

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields. “Not real effective,” he said. “The liberals still got through and Rush annoyed the cows so much that they wouldn’t give any milk.”

Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons and drive them across the border where they are simply left to fend for themselves.” A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions,” an Ontario border patrolman said. “I found one carload without a single bottle of imported drinking water. They did have a nice little Napa Valley Cabernet, though.”

When liberals are caught, they’re sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have been circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and watch NASCAR races.

In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans in powdered wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the ’50s. “If they can’t identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age.” an official said.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and are renting all the Michael Moore movies “I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can’t support them.” an Ottawa resident said. “How many art-history majors does one country need?”

pyro: I you had any reading skills, you would have noticed my post - I don't know how many days ago - when I mentioned this fact. Also, if you had troubled to read previous issues of Alpinist magazine you would have seen a picture I took of Daryl on Zodiac Wall.

I have no intention of being nice to you. Not only do I despise Trump, but also those who seem to feel that he isn't a cancer eating at the spirit of common decency in the United States.

Even so, I could possibly (through gritted teeth) attempt to treat you with courtesy if even once you had attempted to use verifiable information to justify your adoration of that horrible excuse for a member of the human race.

What many forget is what Trump represents, that so many say that does not exist-----a choice.

the liberals yell that Hillary is simply a conservative in disguise.
the conservatives scream that Jeb is a closet liberal.

But TRUMP.

He is a CHOICE.

Trump has apparently stolen George Orwell's political notes, and is using them as his campaign playbook. He addresses his assembled supporters using the 1984 reality-control techniques of double-speak, double-think and history revisionism. The uneducated, blue-collar mob then responds to Trump's blatherings with an extended-play version of the Two Minute Hate.

It would all be amusing, if it weren't true.

Another Trump Tidbit: the city of New York approved his plans for Trump Tower only after Trump agreed to certain conditions regarding use of the property. One of those conditions was that the otherwise unacceptable Tower design have a lobby that would remain public space, somewhat like an indoor park.

Recently, Trump removed the public benches and installed a retail counter, the Trump Store, that sells things like the Trump Make America Great Again baseball cap. The city building and planning department has declared that the bench removal and the retail counter violate the terms under which they originally approved the Tower's plans. The city has demanded that Trump replace the benches, remove the store, and restore the lobby's public-space status.

Not surprisingly, Trump has declared that he will not remove the store, replace the benches, nor abide by the terms under which he was able to build the otherwise unacceptable Trump Tower. Trump is using his lawyers to fight the city over the issue of his unilaterally "renegotiating" the terms of the original building permit.

Trump and New York City Spar Over Access to Tower Lobby

The depth and breadth of his sociopathic Trumpzpah is essentially unbounded. He always has to be the Top Banana, and if he's not, he changes the rules, or brazenly violates them. He is still the same oversized schoolyard bully who would bellow at his classmates, What are you gonna do about it?
