Watch out for those mustard plasters! They do a good job of drawing blood to wherever you may need it to be sure, but you can wind up with some pretty good burns on your skin, too.
+1 for neeb's homemade chicken broth, too. Magic stuff.

Thanks for all the good wishes. I had not considered mustand plaster. I will have to look into it. On the brighter side, my latest blood work indicates that my problem is not due to the thyroid medication (methimazole) that I am currently taking, but that I am infected by something.
Turmeric is something I had started on at one point and then got off track. I'm getting back on track with it. Google around and you'll see that it possibly plays a role in staving of Alzheimers, builds the immune system, and interferes in pathways essential to the development of cancerous tumors.
The milk concoction actually tastes pretty good.

In the Calenviroscreen rankings, Merced warrants three:
Note that "high" scores are not considered good here.
95340 - highest 11-15%
95341 - highest 1-5%
95348 - highest 6-10%
Chula Vista
91911 - highest 6-10%
These rankings appear to be based upon about forty variables which range all over the map [pun].
Lost my place, i knew I shoulda saved that spreadsheet. Will return with Yosemite.

Hey, Doll, freakin' at the Fresno Balls takes a lot of gall.
The "Hook" name was inspired by Sawyer's eyepatch and a reference to "Captain Hook" of the Peter Pan fairy tale, though, humorously, because Captain Hook was neither a doctor nor wore an eyepatch. The "medicine show" and "doctor" (referring to the shows common in the 19th century) were intended as tongue-in-cheek warning against drug abuse. Ray Sawyer lost an eye in a near-fatal car crash in Oregon in 1967, and has worn an eyepatch ever since. To this day, Sawyer is mistakenly considered Dr. Hook because of the eyepatch he wears.

And then Art Hoppe quit the biz, too...Di Fi is still cranking, though...The Hungry i lost its dot the other day, but it was returned to Enrico Banducci by a homeless man who shall remain homeless as well as nameless...Enrico bought him a drink and gave him a fin, ending the story...

Do you suppose there just might be a place at the virtually empty Fresno climbing area called The Balls, and that there might be a route or dome named the Freakers' Ball?
Further, if one were to climb it, it would it be as a solo climb, correct?
I could milk this turmeric topic unmercifully.
But it would take a lot of gall, but no galls. I used to think oak "puffballs" were oak tree seeds, not tealizing I'd been put on by a friend of my brother; it did not occur to me for years and years that they produce acorns. I just found it out that these balls are galls.
Oui, c'est vrai.
Oak galls, a twofer.

when I contacted this website, a bear came tearing through the web-page's print and calmly walked off. No shut.
The Valley of the Dolls was one movie I wish I'd never seen, back in 1967. I used to go into SF for a movie, seeing that and Bonnie & Clyde, among a handful or them. Just a short time later later on August 8, 1969, the hippies from The Valley of San Fernando used their gall to fuel the Tate-LaBianca slaughter. I was in Yosemite that week.
The world is twice as full of freaks now, as I wee it. The internet stockings are at fault. They are so sexy and everyone wants a pair of something.

It escapes me, the name of this climb on Tahquitz. It could be the Innominate and I would not be surprised were it to be that. Who can tell me the name of this route? Is it The Gulp, The Swallow, or Opening Post/Nasal Drip Continuation?
Somebody throw me a rope here!
Shirley, someone knows.
And then we climbed over on the West Face Route, a stout Robbins 5.7 which seemed harder than it had ten years earlier. I was a weekend warrior by this time, not a Yosemite resident climber. It's a long, slow slide to inactivity.
Back to the climbing.

Posted yesterday to the Mouse/sushi thread on TVTV, this plate is my spur-of-the-moment nouvelle cuisine effort, using found kitchen comestibles. The beets could not be beat. Best Beets Ever!
I have myself on a Riley Wyna kinda dining kick (it's not a DIET, for X's sake) that includes many things which are good for me. Layton's ideas on cuisine would be odd only if he were not healthy and vigorous. There is no reason to argue. Layton was right to eat to satisfy himself.
I may not be very strong and my aerobic capacity limited by asthma, but there is no denying the call to climb. There is no denying the call to pee several times in the course of one night, either. Age is not my enemy, but inactivity and lazy eating habits.
How many times must one fall off a horse or a bicycle before he realizes why? The answer is rhetorical as well, but my point is that if you lose your focus you may be bucked off the horse or lose your balance. Mr. Chimpanini says "consistent diet;" Doc Wyna says "full-on vegan."
The yoghurt mouse is non-Vegan. I gave Jimonini a jar of special pickled beets put up by Geri "Jerry" Brown from the Farmers' Mkt. I finished my own jar yesterday, but before I did, I had added carrots slice into sticks. They are hiding under the beets in the photo, which are hidden by the red-colored pepper ring and the parti-colored mouse with pickle ears and celery stem tail.
Jim, the diet consistency tip is brilliant. Thank you.
Riley, the vegan style is a bit more than I want and thank you for the tips and your concern for our health; but I love buttermilk and Greek yoghurt is a classic, especially with honey added. It makes a wonderful dressing for Waldorf salade a la Souris, which adds cranberries. I follow my instincts with recipes of this type. I care that cranberries are good for me and you. But the bottom line here is they taste great in many salads, where raisins lack ZING!
A man should not eat only tacos, but Taco Sauce is good on most things.

Timid
here's the tree you mentioned earlier just after the Fourth, the foxtail pine. These seem to be some righteous specimens. And it's a quality photo, like you'd expect crap from a Muench.
I know, the trees are not foxtails.
Muenches handing out crap, after all.
I haven't got a clue, really, except that I was checking "Olmstead Point" on GoogImage and this was there and the trees looked VERY familiar, like I had just looked at the top photo and went, "Look big for foxtails" and "How does fire get started way up there?"
So.. .. .. ..
Comment?

Six months!
God seemed unhappy, but He was patient, infinitely moreso than old Job.
He wondered, though, as he sipped his Keystone Light, "Jesus! How long must he hesitate?"
Jesus replied, "First, you know the answer, so just answer me this: How long before you get sick of swilling that devil's piss?"
His Pop grinned and chuckled, then said, "It's free swill, jackass. Why drink if it costs you? Remember that trick you pulled at Cana? And I choose to drink it. Free will and swill. Killer!"

Beets art thy friends.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/mangel-wurzel
They are not, as some feel, just to feed to cattle.
BTW, who remembers the Hwy 99 Manteca Stockyard next door to the Spreckels sugar beet refinery? Stinky-poo x 50!
Mice are made of yoghurt, a wholesome but bland-tasting food.
Carrots, celery, pickles.
What's so disgusting
'bout what we're discussing?
Don't go there, sistah!
In all truth, I know many don't care for beets. I'll take yours. You eat my hummus. But wait--I haven't got any for you because I never buy it for myself. It's not disgusting, it's revolting!
See? We all got likes and dislikes.
No need to get upset,
Just talk about it, you bet.

In roaming over threads I've never visited, I checked into the Aerobic Workout Thread this morning. I want to say that I agree with Jogill. You said it, "Hard core thread."
I have asthma, so it's the killer-be-killed thread, to me. But I wish I could partake in the rigors. I used to ride to work and home eighteen miles. It's beyond me now, as I can't get up to speed on my bike any more. Just cruising around YV takes much more effort than such easy terrain used to take. And the rises aren't tough, they are exceedingly gentle. Even Merced is a pain, because riding a bike in traffic you need to be on top of your game and I can't speed up fast because my knees are so dang beat up.
I alxo have heart issues.
Atrial fibrillation and many forms of working out are incompatible, I have read. Lying down, bending, a lot of positions can trigger problems.
I really got stoked for a while on taking a class with Eileen.I saw this exhibition on Saturday the 29th of June. I decided that I was not capable of keeping up with this crew of sweet No-Sweat-Hogs. I was too old.
I was bummed and decided to do it myself. I'm only doing stairs in the building, but regularly. The pace is my own. I don't compete or show off. Just git 'er done and rest.
Leave the rest of it for the younger crowd.
Cheers, everyone! Have a great morning.
Going to look for some more birds this a.m.
