DMT is right, Ed is a class act. That idea of working through the paper is still a good one, Ed. It sounds interesting.

And that's a great photo of Gerry, Ed. Zion?

Yeah, Ed!

I find it very suspicious that all those smart people in science are "liberals".

Gee, that must make all stupid people "conservatives" if all the liberals are the smart ones.

And the word "elitist" is getting a lot of play lately. Elitist nowadays describes
someone who has "education", as in college or Masters or Doctorate level education.

I would be proud if I had the brains to achieve and excel in a post graduate field of study.

But not me, I am going to call my Cable Guy when I have a heart attack.

None of that Harvard educated Cardiologist "elitist" stuff for me!

Lets play the what if game: if AGW is true and it gets warmer then wheat
can be grown further north in Asia and North America thus feeding
the growing world population. Growing seasons lengthen. Rice and sugar cane
regions expand.

Warmist thinking is to seek to stop this so they are
acting like evil nazi sock puppets and basically the enemy of mankind.

Wes - you are of course confusing weather with climate again.

The inability to learn this means you're a simple minded 2-dimensional poster and can be forgiven.

Ed - and what if rainfall does not decrease?

The only certainty is if I have to buy carbon credits from you and Al Gore for just being alive I will be poorer. Everyone will be except the jet setting IPCC types.

Wes - you're clucking like a 'sky is falling' warmist now.

Ed - Google crop irrigation and learn why crops can be grown anywhere
its not that cold.

So its obvious you've lost this argument again today. The weather is unpredictable yet you Warmists falsely claim you can predict it just like the world climate. So absurd that its really a declaration of defeat.

And I'll accept it graciously.

Any country that turns its back on fossil fuels will fail
in the worlds economy. Don't think we'll let you scammers do
that to America.

the fundamental aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed,
and hence clamorous to be led to safety, by menacing it with an endless
series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary … the desire to save the world
usually fronts a desire to rule it.

LAST WEEK Gordon Brown and his chief economist both said global warming was
the worst“market failure” ever.

That loaded sound-bite suggests the “climate-change” scare is less about
saving the planet than, in Jacques Chirac’s chilling phrase,
“creating world government”.

This week and next, I’ll reveal how politicians, scientists and bureaucrats contrived a threat of Biblical floods, droughts, plagues, and extinctions...

You just got the quote origination wrong there.

A fairly well known one.

people do not want to accept reality. That is why they locked up Galileo.

A bit more complicated than that.

Keep in mind that in Galileo's time the terms Astronomer and Astrologer were for all practical purposes synonymous. He was about to upset the apple cart for an entire, hugely profitable, monopolistic industry.

The one that finally drives a stake in the heart of AGM will receive a similar reception.

In case anyone still has brain cells that don't need to be rested after a days work check this

Ed - there are many things civilization can do: continue work to increase the efficient use of energy and the processing of waste products for instance.

We should not do such ridiculous things as tax CO2 emissions.

The public have realized that they don't need to worry about AGW and that
Carbon Taxing is a scam.

That's quite a leap to presume I have a "disdain for scientists", although I have spent 40 years cleaning up after engineers.

There is a distinct difference.

It's a bit ironic in regards to this discussion that Galileo disproved an overly complicated mathematical model that had held sway for a thousand years or so by relying on observation and first principles.

So do tell us WS, wtf kind of fossil fuel free type vehicle are you driving these days?

Hey Chief,

Most of us here drive gasoline consuming vehicles. That's life in the 21st century and for the 1000th time, no one here is saying we should all go live in a cave and give it up overnight. There's nothing hypocritical in that.

Comprende, Jefe?

Chief Big Mouth,

No wonder you don't listen. You can't hear anything but your big yapper.

It would be hypocritical if I said everyone should give up fossil fuels now, and then didn't do it myself.

Did I say that?

Did Weschrist?

Did anyone else?

It's NOT hypocritical to say we need to get find a way to wean ourselves from fossil fuels but continue to use them to some degree in the meantime until that day comes.

Do you understand, ya big blowhard?

Or are you simply to f*#king stupid to get it?

BTW, there's nothing wrong with stupid, as long as long as you know you are stupid.

THE only reason they are hugely profitable is cuz hypocrites as yourself, that propitiate the AGW agenda, keep filling your fossil fuel driven vehicles with their, the monopolistic petroleum industries, product.

No. One of the main reasons they are hugely profitable is because most of the real costs to our generation, and to those of the past, and especially to those of the future, have been externalized.
