Liberals take such joy in hurting people and become so angry when
they fail. They've feel seriously bitch slapped by the Republicans
who stopped them from raising taxes. The profanity echoing in the
Democratic offices goes on.

Again, you couldn't be more wrong. I mean this is just beyond mind-boggling. In the name of "not raising taxes (on millionaires)" you are gleefully celebrating a "win" that involves spending more stimulus money than literally ANY OTHER PACKAGE in the last 2 years. If you are actually against wasteful spending this is a major, major defeat.

HD -Seems you're in denial of the Liberal Democrat failure in this
instance to achieve more control of American businesses by increasing taxes.

Nothing makes a slave master angrier than when he can't use his whip.
(in this case higher taxes)

It's time to stop bashing the rich and figure out how to make sure our children and grandchildren become wealthy.

Pointing out factual data such as "under our system the upper 1% have seen their incomes and wealth grow tremendously in the last 10 years while middle class incomes have actually declined" is not "bashing the rich." I realize that may be hard to understand since you spend most of your time trying to refute such statements, but there it is. Maybe it's time to stop hearing what people are saying instead of hearing what pundits and bloggers tell you that they're saying. Unlike most of the conservatives on this forum, I actually talk with a lot of liberals. Very few of them say things like "the rich people are the problem."

And bookworm gets today's award for posting an article with the most misunderstood quote about a problem that he doesn't understand. Congratulations, bookworm. I'm sure you'll have room in your attic with all the others.

Bookworm, you are quite the hypocrite, aren't you?

You have stated in the past that you are a California school teacher.

Correct me if I have this wrong.

As such, your paycheck comes from the government, you are a State employee.

You would then also be a member of the UNION.

You get healthcare through the plan set up by the government.

You will get a pension administered by the government.

YOU are the ultimate example of a NANNY STATE beneficiary.

No military protecting us? No VA.

No roads, no police, no firemen, no parks, no services.

Mass anarchy. No government running anything because they just screw it up.

No government.

We could all be speaking Japanese, or German.

No liberated Europe.

No nothing.

All because people should be allowed to keep all they make.

No income taxes, you keep it all.

What is the total amount of wealth the 1% have that you say is so important to this topic?

The amount our government has grown in the last 10 years dwarfs anything the upper one percent did. They only wish they were that good.

You are doing some very curious conflation, my friend. And you are completely misunderstanding the concept on top of that. It's not so much about "what the upper 1% did" as "how the system is designed." Under your Great Evil Bigger Government, middle class Americans are paying less taxes than they did in previous decades. So then how come their incomes are lower?

If Fatty is correct (which it seems is rare) and the rich people are the "job creators" then why aren't we swimming in jobs? The stock market is at about 11,500 (up from about 8,500 when he took office). Corporations are making record profits. The wealthy are spending like its 2005 again. All the Supply Side indicators point towards prosperity. And yet the jobless rate is still near 10%. It must be because Michelle Obama wants to help educate kids about nutrition while schools get enough money to actually buy them food that isn't utter sh#t.

But, why do you want to treat this country as if we are a police state. In a constant state of war?

I dunno. Ask the Republicans. They like to accuse liberals of seeing the "War on Terror" as a "law enforcement issue" it is actually a "war."

Skipt: Again you are the one calling them evil. Perhaps if you had read my previous post you'd have taken my point. None of us is calling them evil, we are pointing out that the system is broken. You're they one seeing them as evil.

And the answer to your question is 25%. The top 1% of the country have 25% of the total wealth of the country. During the elitist 80's they had 10% of the total wealth. 10% to 25% in less than 30 years. That is quite a lot of "wealth redistribution."

*edit* And I'm sorry that you don't know what I'm talking about. Try actually reading the posts next time. I spell things out fairly simply, but it seems that you have a hard time turning off your filter. That's probably why you keep seeing everything as "bashing."

I laugh at you.

You don't realize these people can't pay the bills our politicians have placed on us. That is a farce.

This BS Debt will hurt all of us and the main culprit is our own Government.

Skipt if you are so well informed then answer my earlier question. If the problem is actually the government then explain this:

Under your Great Evil Bigger Government, middle class Americans are paying less taxes than they did in previous decades. So then how come their incomes are lower?

Please. Answer that.

Well bottom line.

Obama and Reid and Pelosi have now given the middle class MORE in tax cuts than Bush in 2003.

In fact they has given the middle class the largest tax cuts in US history.

This is just terrible. How dare they think that people should keep more of their pay?
