Was this what you were hoping for with the LBJ quote? I'm confused. Have you actually seen the "context" in regards to Bundy? The context was literally "I'm surrounded by white people so why don't I drop some knowledge on them about 'the negroes'." I realize that just sounds like "the way people talk" to you but to the rest of America that's cut and dry racism. Apparently it's only racist to you if you start burning crosses on people's lawns but I'm not even sure of that anymore. Maybe you think that's just exercising religious freedom.
And nobody is hoping this guy dies. He just needs to pay his taxes (which in this case are actual user fees which Republicans constantly argue are the good kind of taxes).

I see. So even though you can just listen to his fully unedited, unprompted comments you are instead going to defer to the son's argument that "the media" somehow warped space-time and piped in comments from some guy in 1864 to 2014 that made it just SEEM like Bundy spontaneously launched into a racist soliloquy.
You know who the real racists are? People who make excuses for racism.

So let's get back to agreed upon facts and then I'll ask a question (well, 3 questions).
Bundy claims his "ancestors" settled his land in 1877. New information from the LV TV reporter implies 1901 at the possible earliest
I'm not going to quibble.
I'll take Bundy's word for 1877
So what do I know about the Virgin River Valley? Since I haven't climbed there, not as much as some around here. However I've driven through a couple of times in daylight, I look at the maps, read a little of the history and ogle Google Earth.
It's a rather fertile valley. Since ranchers and farmers settled there in the late 1800's I would guess it was rather fertile then, especially compared to the hills to the south where Bundy's cattle still roam.
So who did Bundy's ancestors get the land from? And according to Bundy's logic why don't they have a prior right to it?
And of course the implicit question, how did Bundy's ancestors get the land?

I was wondering, The, did Craven Bundy serve with you in the Big One? If not, why are you spending so much of your time defending him and attacking those who don't defend him? With all the folks who are tread on, why is CB your choice?
Maybe you can also explain why the rattlesnake has come to dominate the imagery of the movement.

That's an impressive pretzel you have yourself in there. You could simply watch the video. You could simply say "yeah that's some pretty racist stuff." You could perhaps point out that the guy seems less like a malicious person out to prove that whites are a superior race and more like a sheltered dude with some pretty outdated, racist views. Instead you're arguing that what anyone with eyes and ears cans see happened couldn't have actually happened because if it had then some other entirely plausible thing wouldn't have happened. Because nobody has ever been tolerant of discrimination against them in the history of the world, right? I mean that's like arguing that the owner of the LA Clippers couldn't possibly be racist...just look at all those black people he has working for him!
These threads are just amazing honeypots for racist apologists. It's astounding.

Blackwater??? Really??? Those pigs are mercenaries who will work for, kill for, do and say anything for who ever pays them. If someone offered them $500 more to pull a Dick Cheney on Cliven they wouldn't think twice about. These are the giuys who rape women and murder children.

speaking of taking a quote out of context. Reid never called Bundy a terrorist. Not even close. I was pretty sure you were wrong when I first read your post. So what's your source? Or is it just selective listening?

I'm going to have to defer to Herr Braun on this one. Somewhere upstream he remarked on the "lack of utility" in this thread.
As long as I'm here though, without relying on the so vague as to be meaningless term "racist", do you think Bundy ever wonders if he might have been better off as a slave, instead of looking for a grazing handout.
Finally, does anyone here know how to chop cotton?
Had to go all the way to Australia, to find some white choppers.
