LEB-
You are crazy. The Republican "fix" to healthcare is healthcare savings accounts, tort reform and to allow the insurance companies to cherry pick healthy patients from all states and leave everyone else out in the cold. You talk about standing up to insurance companies but you're nuts if you honestly think Republicans have any interest in doing that at all.

BTW, several years ago the few dozen or so conservatives who were actually serious about addressing health care issues, such as Mitt Romney, came up with a plan similar to the Dems "socialist" plan. Kinda pathetic to watch them (including Romney) now distance themselves from it once the Repub playbook changed to say they should be concerned with f*#king Obama rather than trying to govern.

Moron:
Obama WILL sign a bill very shortly that extends ALL of the Bush tax cuts,
including those making over 250K, and the Republicans will CAVE on denying an extension of unemployment benefits, they WILL agree to it.
The tax cut part of the deal will likely be for two years only.
Obama has the Repubs exactly where he wants them.

Democrats are warning that Obama will turn into Jimmy Carter if he starts caving on top GOP priorities in the hope of gaining the GOP's goodwill, which they say will never materialize
I actually agree with that, though I think JC is a stretch because a lot has been accomplished the first two years, probably more than JC did. JC had his own issues with a Democratic congress. But yes, I think he caves too swiftly and sees bipartisanship not as a means to an end but the end itself. He should really be telling the Repubs to stick it on tax cuts. Basically he is endorsing W's #1 domestic legacy, one that he said he opposed.
I hope Pelosi won't stand for it.

I stand by my prediction.
Obama has the Repubs right where he wants them.
The Repubs WILL cave and WILL agree to extend unemployment benefits.
And Obama will sign a "temporary" extension of the Bush tax cuts, for EVERYONE.
If I am wrong, it will the ONLY prediction I have been wrong on.
YOU, Jeff, are wrong everyday.

I'd also be interested in how, you make your money, if you have a good job, or if you even pay tax.
I paid 45 thousand last year.
Damn. It must be nice to pay 45,000 a year in taxes. You're not guiding anymore, I take it?
Meanwhile, the Teabaggers just get better and better:
The Founding Fathers originally said, they put certain restrictions on who gets the right to vote. It wasn't you were just a citizen and you got to vote. Some of the restrictions, you know, you obviously would not think about today. But one of those was you had to be a property owner. And that makes a lot of sense, because if you're a property owner you actually have a vested stake in the community. If you're not a property owner, you know, I'm sorry but property owners have a little bit more of a vested interest in the community than non-property owners.

OH THE LEFTIES MUST BE SCREAMING NOW. OBAMA CAVES, REFUSES THE LEFT'S PLEAS TO NOT GIVE PEOPLE BACK THEIR OWN MONEY.
President Obama and congressional Republicans agreed Monday to a tentative deal that would extend for two years all the Bush-era income tax breaks set to expire on Dec. 31, continue unemployment benefits for an additional 13 months and cut payroll taxes for workers to encourage employers to start hiring.

What is just so sad about liberals is that they believe, like all good little tyrannical socialists do, that money taken via taxation is THEIR money.
Hey libs -- what would you do with yourselves without all of our money? All those worthless, bureaucrat-filled programs would go bye-bye. All those cubicle-filled agencies, with barely-awake employees, who make huge coin relative to their worth -- they go bye bye with the public now finally, finally! pulling the plug on the spigot of our wealth being directed towards the public sector.
The essence of liberalism is dependence on the government, which is why liberals constantly tell everyone who will listen, "YOU CANNOT SUCCEED WITHOUT OUR HELP! YOU ARE A VICTIM! YOU SUCK WITHOUT US."

THE WASHINGTON POST'S ROBERT SAMUELSON NAILS IT:
"But what was missing was a moral rationale for change, except for some familiar platitudes: "American cannot be great if we go broke"; or, "We have a patriotic duty . . . to give our children and grandchildren a better life." The trouble with these pleasing lines is that they don't address the practical question of why existing recipients of government support - farmers, the elderly, local governments, for example - should lose it.
Answers exist. It's not in the national interest to subsidize farmers, because food would be produced at low cost without subsidies. It's not in the national interest to subsidize Americans, through Social Security and Medicare, for the last 20 or 25 years of their lives because healthier people live longer and the huge costs make the budget unmanageable. It's not in the national interest to subsidize mass transit, because most benefits are enjoyed locally: If the locals want mass transit, they should pay for it.
