Skip the ad, of course... what follows the ad is Keith Jarrett in one of the Koln Concert improvisations he did there (Cologne, Germany). The second part of the Koln Concert is also great, and also his "Solo Concerts: Bremen and Lausanne", which are an even longer set of improvisations. They're all out there on YouTube, along with a bunch of his other stuff... solo improvisations, jazz quartets, and so on. Early-mid 1970s, but I still think it's wonderful music. I had the good fortune to hear him improvise live at Macky Auditorium in Boulder, in the summer of 1977. Part of his improvisational style is that he'll play a set of chords repeatedly, waiting for inspiration, and just when you think it's getting boring, he'll go off on a beautiful riff, which leads to another, and so on. When he finds the right riff, and goes with it, it is really beautiful, at least to me. The music of life.
