It's going to be a long one tonight. Five beers down and I haven't eaten yet. I started around 8:30 so I got my pace already. I quick sandwich and I'll be good till at least two.
Are those white Eggplants there, Fritz? Nice. Cheers, dude.

jonnyrig, when did you change your name from hillrat? And whyyyyyy?!?
RANT: That's my gripe about this damn place. It takes me years to get even a vague recollection of people's handles and then they up and change them. I can understand quitting your job and going on a year-long road trip. I can understand trading in the Hummer for a Prius. But what kind of existential crisis leads one to change their Supertopo Forum name? (Brandon is exempted from this rant.)
I hit my alcohol limit on Thursday night - 2 whole glasses of wine! The occasion? My hubby was traveling and I got to spend the whole night watching 8 episodes of "Modern Family" (which he doesn't like). Four hours of drinking and cackling like a maniac. I have a whole list of rom-com chick flicks lined up on Netflix for when he travels! Sooo fun and satisfying!

Weeg,
I finally made it down. Finally. Sheesh. It was pretty hard. I hadn't soloed a wall in ten years, forgot how much work it requires!
If you can believe it, I actually came DOWN with booze. I was running short of water towards the end, at least until I reached Thanksgiving Ledge, at which point I had tons. But I actually returned to the ground with a bit of booze left over.
I'm in Mariposa right now, just visited the local wine tasting room and picked up a very fine Zin. But an even bigger score was my Eisch Breathable Glass for only 14 bucks - woo-hoo! Time to celebrate!!!

Congrats, Pete! Must have been nice to not have the background noise.
In your honor, Sir - I am having Seagrams 7 and 7-Up (the seven-and-seven I had a ton of in 1982 when I was border-hopping from Bellingham to get drinks at 19).
Just remember, the glass will NOT breathe FOR YOU.

Larry - it takes one to know one. I rapped Lurking Fear this time, with all my piggage.
Thanks, guys - t'was a Grand Adventure. Imagine looking down on El Cap Meadows at eight o'clock at night, on a weekend no less, and not seeing a single light or car. Unbelievable!
I am debating opening a bottle of Columbia Valley Chardonnay. Hmmm, I think I know where my corkscrew is. And I have my Mountain Equipment Co-op plastic stemware handy - I think it's that time....

Drinking Costco Cab-----& it ain't bad
for the money -----says my honey!
What an up and down emotional rollercoaster of a week, and although the weather is good for the weekend in Idontno,
Phase II of the slab project begins tomorrow morning!
This!
will become our garage & workshop.
I've never been in possession of anything but POS leaky & mouse-infested garage/workshops.
Maybe I'll be a "better" person when it's done. Pain in our asses along the way------sluuuuuurp!
Hopes for all you having a better weekend than mine!

Pete, well done, sir! And kudos for yer inimitable planning! Running out of hooch would have
tarnished an otherwise stellar accomplishment.
Fritzi, glad yer realizing that aman's garage is his castle. That looks to be good flat work!

So I am four or five American (quicky)-style Ciaphrinas (too drunk to spell the Brazilian version) down. Screw mashing the actual limes, so I went for sweetened lime juice with added powdered sugar plus cheap white rum. Too bad I do not have the actual Brazilian rum cachacia. Getting hyped for the Tollhouse Faceoff tomorrow and Sunday.
OBTW, a big FuQ U to the BART management for making my partner from SF getting here extremely late so I cannot leave until tomorrow.

Friday afternoon here on the San Joaquin Amtrak run from Merced to Emeryville. Picked up a nice quart of King Cobra at the corner store near the train station for a grand total of two bucks.
God Bless America!
Home on the redeye tonight, and to new beginnings. Life has been quite un-Belize-able of late.
