Klimmer, chances are you won't get N1H1 influenza. Furthermore, even if you do, it won't be worse than four or five days home in bed, feeling rotten. Most likely, you wouldn't require hospitalization, like my sister's assistant who'd been in the ICU for a week unable to speak. Chances are that won't happen to you.

Yep, somewhere near 10 million have gotten the vaccine so far, in the US. I've not heard of one major reaction.....and you can be sure that it will get WIDE publicity if one happens!

I have never been vaccinated before. I escaped measles, mumps, and all kinds of afflictions even though I shared a room with two sisters who had every childhood disease. I have dragged my feet and turned down opportunities to over vaccinate my children.
This is different. I have a child who is an asthmatic. This flu is killing children with respiratory diseases at a much higher rate than the usual seasonal flu. I work in a crowded office and also am a volunteer EMT. I will be in contact with this and I want to protect my child.
After much thought and independent research, my family got vaccinated. Flu mist is live virus. Injectable vaccine is not. Because our daughter has chronic respiratory issues, she had to get the injectable vaccine - no live virus for her.
Just as much as I reject overmedicating and overvaccinating the population, I also reject the knee jerk conspiracy theory and almighty dollar rules all beliefs.
If you are healthy and have no weak family members, don't need a shot. If you or your children are high risk, think about it.

While something smells fishy to me about this whole swine flu mess. I really wouldn't be surprised if genetically engineered stuff escapes from, or is released from, some lab somewhere.
Still, I have a hard time believing that there is any conspiracy involved in the vaccine that also aims to harm vaccine recipients (outside of just making money on multiple dose vials preserved with mercury)
Why? Face it, all the government hating/fearing folks eschewing the vaccine on the Right and Left are precisely the folks any new world order conspirator types would WANT out of the way. If such a conspiracy were underway, the smartest thing they could do in order to get rid of their enemies would be to spread the word the Vaccine was bogus and to be avoided.
That disinformation would do double duty in keeping folks focused on the vaccine conspiracy and not where this strange virus came from.

Canadian Universal Healthcare sucks on H1N1 vaccine delivery.
Nov 4,2009 - Nov 14, 2009 closure of clinics.
Alberta Health and Wellness announced on Friday that vaccination clinics for the H1N1 vaccination throughout the Province would be temporarily suspended.
But the Calgary Flames reportedly jumped the queue just prior to the suspension to clinics. It raises the question, what the priority system established by Health Canada and adopted by Alberta really means.
Amidst cuts to Health Care, including selective surgery, MRI reductions and apparent hiring freezes of Health Care Workers, it appears that Elitists and Professional sports can easily get those services, including the H1N1 vaccinations.
"I'm hearing from fans this morning and I intend to speak with them and try to help them understand why we would make a decision and what criteria under which we made that decision and again explain to them that we ... appreciate that not everyone will agree."
The NHL has had several players with confirmed cases of H1N1.

Yes, there have been some mini-scandals here, with non-priority people getting vaccinated for H1N1. Some minor hockey players near Vancouver, hockey players in Calgary (the person who gave it to them was fired), the board members of two hospitals back east. Trivia, in context of millions of vaccinations.
Otherwise, vaccinations in BC seem to be going more or less according to plan. There was a temporary shortage about a week, now sorted out.

Given that production and distribution of the vaccine is largely a federal responsibility, I suspect that the picture is similar across Canada.

Has people's trust in field experts really diminished to the point that there's a paranoid conspiracy in everything? Or is it that our means of communication just amplifies the kooks, and then everyone feeds on that, reinforcing the most ridiculous notions?
You won't see millions of people in the street with placards screaming "I've had the flu vaccine and I'm FINE". Well, on second thought, if millions of people were doing that, I'd have my doubts that they're "fine".

I have always said I have doubts about this vaccine and whole Swine Flu pandemic.
Something does not feel right about it. They had patents for the vaccine before the outbreak occured. Something is very fishy about it all.
I do not think that vaccines in general are evil. They can be used for good. But if someone wanted to do evil with them they could very easily do so. In this day and age we live you must use descretion. There is ultimate evil in the World and they have voiced their true intentions. Call me "Bat Poop Crazy" if you want and many other silly ad hominen attacks, I do not care. I know the score and it was written in the good book many thousands of years ago. We live in the last days. Ultimate evil is among us and he (Lucifer) knows his time is short. Evil children of their father will do as their evil father sugggests. They have an evil agenda and they are carrying it out.
