Obviously you guys just want to talk and debate and be intellectual and prove your point and make a new point and argue and say this and that as if its relevant but to the OP....HERE I AM....I actually climb and im super hip

Funny, when I first started climbing one of my two main partners was way down on your list -- a woman who was miles better than I
Yeah, but then she'd kind of been through a whole bunch of the stuff everybody's crying about in this thread, hadn't she? Not that I'd know anything about it...
The gals I am referring to are happy to drive long hours, pay, hump gear, buy gear, get dirty, hike down in the dark, be cold at belays, travel to exotic destinations, travel to local sh#t-holes, bivy in the dirt, lead routes, swing leads, belay endless hours for FA's, step aside the red point, make hero leads, climb the wide, use their favorite Prana tops for topo notes, get up crack-o-dawn and quite possibly would do all the cooking and cleaning to boot"
Yeah Kellie, she was all those things, and all of us who have climbed with her are damn lucky. Now, that doesn't mean I didn't want to push her off the edge half the time, and I know she felt the same, but she was a fine, fine partner.

kellie...#6? (I forget now!) was pretty far down the list b/c while all of the really dedicated women climbers that I know will climb w/ a beginner now and again b/c that person is their friend or b/c they are the only one available, none of them got to be the bad ass mamas that they are by being mellow about how often they pushed their own boundries. If a partner (male or female) can't help them do that, then they almost certainly know others who can.
Like I was aluding to before...even when you were a beginner, I doubt you held anyone back much.
Lucky...I'd love to go climb w/ you sometime and find out if we're #5's. :-0

I dropped back into this topic to find the above wisdom from Locker. May all climbers here get the partner they deserve. Including me.

Ghost, that made me laugh out loud. It also reminded me of Eric H's hilarious list of advantages and disadvantages of regular and irregular partners back on the wreck, in which as I recall you both also featured prominently.
Melissa, if I can stay injury free this year, maybe in the fall?!!? I'd surely love to get back down to the Sierra again.
Now if ya'll will excuse me the weather forecast for the Methow is splitter and there is a large peak waiting to be skied.

Susan -- Thanks for posting. It made me smile to read about other women having trouble finding partners.
It took me 6 months last year after my climbing SO dumped me to find a suitable partner. My current partner had a SO, and may be moving... so on to find another partner.
Anyone around the LA area?
