That means it'll probably open the day before. They hate the lines that form. That's been my experience with those notices anyway.
Uhm, I have no car for the summer either, so if anyone wants to take mercy on me and take me climbing with you, well, I'M ABOUT TO CRAWL OUT OF MY SKIN I WANT TO CLIMB SO BAD!!!!!!!!!

Still says this:
There is no estimated opening date for the Tioga Road. The road open as early as conditions allow.
If it does open Fri/Sat, looks like the soonest I can be up there is Sunday.

davidji -- I get the impression the NPS site has some update problems .. the changes show for a while, and then content reverts for a while. Not sure what's up with that, but it will probably settle down eventually.

wonder if the wilderness Permit shack will be open for business?
-note that multiple and convoluted ski tracks are difficult to follow-
and they're forecasting rain on friday...ie fresh snow in Toulumne ?

Wouldn't it be nice if they closed the road to TM, erased all signs of human activity and re-introduced wolves and grizzlies. Nice climbing up there but it's even a better venue for wildlife.
