Chewie, check it out...looked up my primordal roots...I was wrong my mother had nothing to do with it....I was stolen by Indians, and named by a Chinaman and a German Fur Trader...just go back one page for Lynne's exciting adventure.

Ola Girl was a nickname given to me when I worked at Warner Bros. Records - I use it because it's easy to remember. How "Ola Girl" came about is not a very exciting story so I won't bore you with the details, but its origins are "Hola" as in "Hello", not "Ola" as in "Wave".

Here's a pic of me with my co-worker, Matt, at the WBR Christmas party. His nickname was "Little House". Any of you tough climbers care to admit that you know why?

Simply put, it's my name. My very own nickname. Everyone calls me that, friends, climbing partners, colleagues, even family. Made frome the abbreviation of my family name, Lastofka. I don't know if that counts as hiding behind an alias or not... and I don't really care.

Ola Girl, I was totally into Little House on the Prairie when I was a kid. But we only had one TV channel, so I learned to like what we had.

edit: Oops, I should have read you said tough guy climbers. I'm just the neutered nutjob type.

My name is from "Big trouble in little china" a B-movie with kurt russel and kim kattrall. Porkchop Express was the name of Kurt's truck. I personally am not porky-- just was on a cheesy movie kick when I made this account.

Apogee has been a pet word since high school, denoting the highest and/or furthest point of anything. Yes, it is a bit geeky.

Nothing to do with astronomy, though most people seem to be familiar with it's use in that context.

Mine- I was too damn chicken to lead climb for the first 4 years, but I became a whiz at cleaning gear. Never left a piece behind. Thus... the Maid.

Myself and two other yahoos from Issaquah went to college in E-burg 30 years ago and had the nicknames Studly Steve, Tough Todd, and Burly Brian. I still climb, bike and ski with these guys and although I may not be that studly anymore, the other two gentlmen are rowdy athletes still.
