RMuir and BVB you guys are owning this thread today. Great to see others adding so many fun looking climbs. Much gratitude.

I really agree about the relationship You can have with boulders more than any other type of climb, where the time you put in can equate to the enjoyment you can get, even to the feeling of sublime as BVB states, when a sequence is executed perfectly. Wired. Love that s H i T.

Another favourite I get that feeling from:

Big Mike's Reach V2

I can tell a little story about this one.

Situated 60' up near the top of one of Canada's most used single pitch TRAD crags sits a nice big ledge with a perfect 20' face spackled with unusual little edges and a long reach for a hidden pocket right at the top. I named this one as a tribute for Mike after he broke his back, as a reminder to his giant stature amongst his friends both physically and influentialy, regardless of what the unknown outcome of his then situation would be. Luckily he bounced back better than we ever could have hoped :-) Thekidcormier also did the arête on the left and named it "the blue dragon" after Mikes sled. The wall has got a great view and sits on a nice retaining wall that some over ambitious climbers with lack of vision installed. I was so thrilled when I saw all the work they did and didn't even notice the Boulder problem right there! I have it a little scrub and cleaned out the pocket on top and Voila! It feels a little exposed and climbs so nice, I always try and huck a lap when it's dry and I happen by it- even managed to get on it today while out walking the dog.

My favorite boulder problem, so far, is in a completely obscure area in the woods outside of Dubuque, Iowa. It's limestone, and (no pictures, unfortunately) is a horizontal roof crack (parallel to the ground) about 20-25' long, 8 feet off the ground. Solid 5.11, with a gnarly turn of the roof at the end. Finally pulled it off for what I'm sure was an FA (had to do some gardening to work it, and besides...who else would be looking for bouldering in the woods near Dubuque, IA?) in about 28 degree weather. It would be a killer attraction anywhere else.

Hey Ryan, earlier this week I was out exploring after work and found what could potentially be the worlds next greatest classic highball.
Not gonna say where cause I don't want a bunch of crushers flying up here to snag the FA but if you are interested, I'll show you sometime. I spent a good20 minutes drooling over it.

Boulder bump. When you find these gems, it's obvious the Gods were climbers.

I've almost reposted my entire TR, lol.

really enjoyed the whole process on this boulder. this one has many of the elements i look for in a boulder... great rock, interesting movement, height, and commitment factor with a good landing. this bloc is leaning against the cliff right off the trail under some awesome sport routes on an iconic cliff. good shade in the summer, awesome setting up above the wenatchee river, and full of variety of hard moves.
