Again the madness manifests it's evil intent. The City of Light attacked by darkness. Heart ache and hair pulling ensue. If only we can look deeper and not go off like half cocked drunken cowboys this time. The intrinsic heart of the issue is not Muslims or Islam but radicalized extremism of all stripes. It does't matter if it is a christian, hebrew, hindu or muslin gang It's like a 32 flavor Baskin Robbins of hate filled extremism out there and they are all toxic waste. Right here in America we have mouth breathing, knuckle dragging, scripture frothing politicos denouncing the dreaded "Sharia Law" while simultaneously demanding that their version of "God's Law" be imposed in America.

Who's God?

May the Western states respond in the spirit of Jesus and not just invoke the name for justifying vengeance.

My deepest condolences to the fallen, their family and friends.

All religions have misused force at one time or another, usually in direct conflict with their basic theological premises.

Only one religion has at its core forcible subjugation of the other.

Only one religion's very name means,

submission.

You know nothing of history. You are blinded by bias.

There are real problems facing this planet, problems that will need to be addressed by humanity as a collective. When sea levels rise all faiths drown. When the honey bee populations crash all faiths starve. Its time for the the chains of dogma to be shed.
Its time for humanity to quit looking at what divides us and focus on what connects us.

If you dump the blame for this in the lap of GWB, I can go along with that. He was and always will be a willing tool for others, particularly the ones in control in the right wing.

He was/is too stupid to rule/reign/preside.

His father was soft on Hussein in GW I & he was not nearly the hardass he needed to be in GWII, which was dumped in Obama's lap on arriving in the Oval Office.

Now Jeb Bush wants a piece of the legacy. And stuff.

F*#k the Republicans. F*#k their arrogance.

I pity the French, but it will spread to our own shores because the germ of Islam seems to require blood on occasion. But so does Christianity. And so does Communism.

It's all fine if everyone is one on one. Life seems tolerable. But put them into packages, sects, cults, nations, classes, and any social division you name, tribes, clans, families, we humans tend to be shitty with others based on the differences, ignoring the samenesses.

Shame on us all. Get used to being human. I haven't any solutions except that we always must try on that one on one level to be the best we can be.

When you declare war on a group of people, then they will fight back

The terrorism will never end until we stop our war against terrorism

There is no easy answer

But an over reaction is the worst response

and the cowardly whine of them coming here and getting us is the most pathetic thing I've heard in long time, except from politicians with an agenda of misusing our civil liberties

127 died from lung cancer caused by cigarettes the same day

we need perspective.

Kerry's on TV right now talking about doing sh#t that should have been done three years ago.

Obama's plan was to do as little as possible - mainly talk - and run out the clock until January after next. Now they're talking about getting busy.

Last night Ann Coulter tweets:

They can wait if they like until next November for the actual balloting, but Donald Trump was elected president tonight.

She seems to think ISIS is doing a great job.

So terrible to hear about. How could something like this happen? Why do bad things happen to good people?

Stewart,
I don't think that current or recent politicians in the West are the root cause for what is happening in the Middle East.
The Islamic world has been at war within itself for centuries with Sunni and Shia.
Add cultural differences and stir (The ME is the crossroads of all human migration).
Now the Islamic world is at war within itself about how to come to terms with a modern world rapidly threatening it's traditions.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam

The many Western intrusions since WW I have given rationalizations to the violence of the extremists, but the extremists are at war with every non-Muslim country that borders a Muslim country.

Only the Muslim world can fix the pathologies within itself, and I pray success to the vast majority of good and decent Muslims.

At this point, both in Europe and here, profiling people for the security of all will increase.
The backlash of progressive immigration policies in Europe will not be pretty, nor irrational.

In an ideal world, we could all live together peacefully! This is a recurring theme here on S-T, but it isn't an ideal world.
So...the Pacifists here, the anti gun crowd here, the open borders crowd here can all be lumped together in one word...

Victims.

How many more tens of thousands must be slaughtered Spiny, before this becomes an "existential threat".

Actually, it would be measured in hundreds of millions.

These terrorists are not, and will not be, an existential threat to the US

Although when the undereducated start throwing around terms they don't understand, you might think so.

We do not seriously need to start learning arabic or any other middle eastern language. We do not need to start considering conversion to radical Islam.

Even if the radicals got a bomb, it would not threaten the EXISTENCE of the US.

BTW, I am amazed this morning at how the Chief has altered his posts to fit the emerging narrative. Wow, was he wrong.
