I do have a sweet story I should share about getting sent to the emergency room from work. Co-workers thought I was dead...

suprema: there's a pretty clear distinction between earnestly advocating the massacre of 300 million human beings and singing the praises of weapons that are specifically designed for killing people and hunting.

Here's a free reality check for everyone: hundreds of thousands of U.S. citizens gave their lives to give you the freedom to post this crap.

The Memorial Day thread that should have crashed this server with words of deep gratitude for the sacrifices of these men and women got 35 posts.

This thread, largely composed of tributes to this guy has received almost exactly 10 times the traffic of the Memorial Day thread.

You people should get your priorities straight.

Well, it goes like this...

I spent 4 days at Bass Lake at the front-side of Shuteye Ridge. Stayed at a pleasant resort with the wife and boy. Fishing, swimming, hiking, but no climbing. Just awesome, relaxing family-time.

This also involved drinking quite a bit throughout the trip including nice glasses of whiskey on the patio at night overlooking the lake. That, combined with copious amounts of sun and not drinking enough 'hydrants', led to a dangerous situation.

I usually take a 'rest day' after trips like this, but went right back to work the next day. Totally dehydrated. Apparently the dehydration also robbed me of a sense of appetite. I went the whole day dehydrated and with out food.

I hit 'the wall' at about 2pm. I don't remember what happened. I was in a remote R&D Engineering area when the cleaning lady walked past and noticed me on the ground breathing weirdly. She called for help. My boss saw that I had lost consciousness and was unresponsive, he pulled the trigger on 911.

I regained consciousness with EMS personnel on both sides of me and 4 or 5 firemen along with co-workers staring at me. The EMS crew drilled me with some basic questions to ascertain my clarity, and see if I had a stroke.

The people staring at me looked more shocked than I felt. I could not understand what had happened.

I was loaded onto a stretcher and took the ambulance ride to the hospital. I was given IV fluids on the way and attached to heart monitors at the hospital. Blood tests and other heart tests indicated I was in good shape.

I simply fainted due to lack of food/fluids. Stupid. My dad got wind of the event and rightly told me that, "What's the matter with you, you know better than to let that happen!"

Apparently is not uncommon in emergency rooms. It's called "neo-syncope".

Some of us celebrate the US military all the time, not just one day a year. But we get called "war-mongers" and other stupid sh#t....

Hey Stewart, get over it.

I posted on that thread, and have posted some climbing content on here as well, but if you don't like guns you will just have to put up with people that don't share your negativity.

Bluering: I am dismayed that that you would say such a thing. I am far from a fan of many aspects of U.S. foreign policy, and have made no secret of my objections, however not once in any of my posts have I ever accused those who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces of being "war mongers" - once citizens put on that uniform, they are expected to follow orders. Their opinions are not solicited.

I am unaware of anyone who shares my beliefs who would be so insensitive and stupid to use the "war monger" label to describe these people. Wars are started by politicians, and they are often legitimate targets for this label.

It may be useful for you to recall that Ron Anderson was the guy who was, and probably i still, peddling a fantasy about the U.S. Armed Forces conspiring to impose a military dictatorship in the United States. I sincerely doubt that he was placing memorial wreaths at any veteran graveyards on Memorial Day.

Toker Villain: Is that a joke? I am:

Opposed to Ron's attempt to organize a massacre of 300 million human beings.
Opposed to the sale of automatic weapons equipped with large capacity magazines & loaded with ammunition specifically designed to kill people - you know - the kind of evil machinery that functioned so effectively in Sandy Hook and a sickening number of other locations.
Opposed to the overthrow of the elected Government of the United States by a parade of lunatic militias with extreme right wing ideologies.

So... if that makes me "negative", it's a label I'll wear with pride.

What's left to say about Ron that hasn't been said already? 1/50th Cherokee, and the rest complete dumbass. He had a way with words, just never figured out English as his primary language.

On a serious note, this must be freeing up his time for more pot lucks with his oath keeping brethren in the moron militia. Watch out minorities! They are gunning for you in a trailer park in mound house!!!
