Will the road be clear of ice, can I leave my Subie at home.
Am sure you'll be fine. Temps recently have been so warm, even overnight.
I wish we had to worry about ice on the road still!

The road has been open to Tioga Pass from the eastside for a few days now. Yesterday we drove up to the pass and walked a few miles into the park. The road is a nice walk when there are no cars on it. We saw 13 cyclists on the road in the park, and lots of skiers east of the pass. Here are a few pics.

I went up Sunday, was 27F at 6:45 am. Skinned up to the Dana plateau and had an awesome ski down. Saw about a dozen skiers on the mountain.

That was too easy for you Clint...
I like Dixie Peach because you can go do one well protected 5.9 pitch, rap off and jump in the lake! No heinous 5.7+ slab runout (although I would like to get that dialed in someday...)
I also like the 5.8+ alternate start of Hermaphrodite Flake for the same reason (thin pro - think C3 000)
Hoping to be in TM July 4 week! Warm up on Super Chicken!

"100% normal"...that's so typical.
Why not say "normal" if it's normal?
Just feckin' withya, Timid.
Are we gonna get a TR on the Beaverkill? I hope, I hope.

Done come and gone...oh well. Got to see the farmers laments about water but what I really missed were the fish tacos at the a mobile station.
No more trips to the Valley on my dance card....some much, much less crowded areas nearer home.

Yes Timid, an east coast spring(?) Fishing TR?, were you any where near Roscoe NY?
Edit: on seeing this, or that,
And not wanting anyone to throw a wobbler about
Unreasonable thread drift. . .
Not here. But I'm sure on the flames,
timid! Those names! The very places!
Neversink Gorge! - The Roscoe Dinner. . .
Going to Livingston Manor, for nicer digs. . .
Classic Americana for sure.
Such steely eyed locals, heads down struggling thru. . .
I sure it hasn't changed much. The picture looks familiar?
But that's just the nostalgia of an old man looking in on a window
Of by gone youth.
Thankyou, all you Can & do folks!
get on up to the domes,
that road is open in 5 or so hours
1st tracks? Long slabs still dripping? Shuffling off ice?
Take pictures, & post 'em
Man I miss California !
I was in the meadows not nearly often enough, and I led the Hermaphrodite Flake too.

The Beaverkill and Willowemoc are world class. A few hours north is my favorite stream on the right coast. The West branch of the Ausable. Pretty sure I don't need Tioga to be open to get to any of them though. lol

Why can't it be perfect weather this weekend.
Wondering if parks would close the pass with this forecast?

Guess you've never had a really good fish taco.
And have enough dough to afford 20$ fish tacos haha. That place has RIDICULOUS prices. Anyone looking for a great snack, check out the store next to Niceley's, the apple pie/strudel thing is amazing. The burgers and a GIANT choice of MILKSHAKES across the street in Mono Cone (?) is to KILL for. YUM. Makes me hungry thinking about this stuff. SO GOOD!
For those who consume meat and are in Bridgeport, Albert's Deli and Jolly Cone are great...OH and BURGER BARN! Tick those along with the classic rock climbs!
