Dr., not sure about auction on party night, probably not. We will be selling stuff there however.

Silent Auction to be held the day/night of the event. If you have swag feel free to post on ST for immediate sale so proceeds can start the ball rolling. As Dave has mentioned we need money now & later!

If you have special items, more goods or you just can't give enough? Please send to me directly as I will be gathering items in the months to come for the Silent Auction and Raffle prizes.

Silent Auction Platform:

-Item description, photos and minimum starting bid sheets prepared.
-Interested parties Bid on items.
-Bidding frenzy starts.
-Auction ends at reasonable time (TBD) with enough so everyone gets a chance to participate
-Winner pays to receive "won" item
-Absent participants can notify in advance of authorized proxy bidders
-Absent bidders to work out delivery options (you pay shipping)

Raffle Tickets will also be available at the door and throughout the party. Raffle prizes big and small to be given out. Stay tuned for updates and prize teasers!

If you have items to donate, need my address, questions or suggestions please contact me.

hmmm low slope roof and the shingles blew off-no wonder its leaking.
shingles in a high wind zone will eventually result in 52 pickup.
just my 2 cents

PS low slope roof is always the main reason for leaking even if the roofing material seems intact.

Awesome effort, DE, mobilizing the Friends of Gordo network. It's mindboggling how many of us filtered through his home over the years. Count me in on some financial support up front - I'll mail you a check.

DE, I'm loving the Sierra images, including the one with Scout. Good times in that range with you and the crew. We need to make some plans!

Gordo, hang in there. That roof looks BAAAAD. See you at the event.

BTW - this is my first Supertopo post. The event finally motivated me to chime in.

How about raise the money upfront and a couple of STers could just come a couple of days early and put a new roof on the place for the party. Surely there has to be plenty of STers here with the requisite building and roofing experience. Just a thought anyway.

healyje, that's the plan. It's all worked out. See post from Coz just above.

Just need money for materials.

Still.

Ron, yes a golden or strain thereof. I'm trying to remember the name of the lake...over Duck Pass aways. It's the third big lake you come to going south. Oh yes, Lake Virginia. I think it was from that trip. Alex Battey holding. Todd, Rob, Paul, verification needed.

Zip, with all due respect I get that you're interested in what something like this is going to cost, where it stands and who's doing the work, etc. But it sounds like the bulk of that has been handled already and we should be thankful that every move doesn't require going through a committee.

What is asked is for donations that people feel comfortable with be sent now if possible. These early donations might get the roof on before the party which would be ideal.

If there is extra cash....there really isn't. Big party, booze, maybe a porta-john or two all need to be funded as well. Personally I'd also like to see the Gordon's a functioning second bathroom too!

I'm going to second Susan's response. This is not some publicly traded company. Dave is a 100% stand up guy and will ensure the funds which are donated will be handled properly.

He has enough on his plate organizing this already, he doesn't need to be posting expense reports, and justifications etc.

Let's just leave it at that.

Hey y'all, a quick update.

Our effort is plugging along but we have a long way to go to make the repair and party happen. Please continue to exercise your generosity glands and donate more valuable booty and cash.

Some of the booty is spoken for.
Cracko gets the haulbag. He has been mega generous and it is his.
Pud gets the aiders.
The EB's and the Tom Burke plaque may be taken as well, not totally confirmed.

Susan Peplow has volunteered time and effort and will be collecting some booty as well and probably spearheading a silent auction.
Details will be provided later.

Thanks all,

The roof repair is well into the planning stage with boss, crew, materials list and cost estimate inked. There isn't any need for concern on this subject.

OK, slight exageration.
