It doesn't matter how much PSU and the NCAA try to rehabilitate Joe and the school.
It's a black mark forever.

Joe Paterno screwed up big time. What he and the school leaders did by looking the other way was reprehensible. But Joe didn't win those games. The students did. Sure he coached them, but the students played the games. Taking that all away from the students is punishing them for something they didn't do. Anyone with half a brain will know, even if he gets his record back, that Joe and the School leaders did something reprehensible, but the school itself and the students shouldn't also be punished. The record should stand. The black mark should be against Joe himself and the leaders at that time. Not everyone else who knew nothing about what was going on.

If we knew all the facts we could all have justice. Instead the best we get is made up beliefs about who did what and who knew what and who's to blame, and then we just believe whole-heartedly that our made up beliefs based on incomplete information of questionable accuracy are absolutely true and those bastards (whoever we conclude they are) should burn in hell because I believe they should. Yea, I'm with you, I'm a human too. Praise Jesus!

Joe Paterno fans place '409' signs around campus as the legendary Penn State football coach once again becomes the NCAA's winningest coach.
What's going on is about Paterno, not the students or the school.
Joe Paterno's 111 vacated victories (plus one other PSU win) from '98-11 are restored, meaning he's once again the all-time leader in wins at 409.

I don't want to sound too jaundiced, but there seem to be more messed up folks than non-messed-up folks in the world. I won't speculate as to whether this is a transition or just the way it's always been.
I wonder if any of the many Social Scientists out there in the world have developed a MUI (Messed Up Index) yet.

What's going on is about Paterno, not the students or the school.
.
Um... No.
It's definitely about the school as defined by the president, trustees and AD as well.
The report on the investigation led by former FBI director Louis Freeh indicts President Graham B. Spanier, Senior Vice President‐Finance and Business Gary Schultz, Athletic Director Timothy Curley and the late head football Coach Joe Paterno for showing "no concern" about alleged victims of Sandusky, the one time assistant football coach.
Three are still facing criminal charges, which the ncaa can't absolve.
Paterno only gets a free pass because he's dead.

This thread alone shows that cOACH P. gets re-scorched!
He was THE Head coach in college football, and held in high esteem in American youth sports. That was, in many walks of life, a big deal. The fact that he did not survive to face the music is a good thing all the way around.
'Merician's do not like to have Thier churches assailed by truth!
Football taken to extremes, anything really, is going to spiral out of control,
In this case, it was sphincter, the spinning suck of the normalcy shoot, that took
down Penn. ST football .

Starting to look very clearly like JoePa was a long time enabler of a child rapist, but hey... f*#k it, we have football to focus on and isn't that what really matters?

Sandusky claiming he was framed! Just saw it today.
Lawyers for Sandusky can pursue several issues at the May 20 hearing, including the competency of his trial attorney, whether prosecutors and the judge who oversaw the grand jury withheld evidence and whether the state attorney general's office leaked sealed grand jury material to a reporter in 2011 in a bid to encourage other victims to come forward.
Penn State's revered former head coach Joe Paterno was told of child sexual abuse by convicted molester Jerry Sandusky as far back as 1976, decades before previously thought, but did not report it to higher authorities, a court document showed.

Penn State announced on Sept. 1 that it planned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Paterno's first game at the school -- a 15-7 win over Maryland on Sept. 17, 1966 -- but declined to provide any details at the time.
The decision to honor the longtime coach sparked widespread debate. Paterno was fired in 2011 amid the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal
