Yesterday, 70+ mile ride in the hills, torrentialrain and headwind, to get to a particular PC World that had a particular digital camera on sale for 35 quid so my girlfriend can give it away in Cameroon after she's done with her fieldwork. Miserable, miserable ride. My hands didn't work for almost an hour after getting home. Couldn't undo the velcro on my bike shoes or undo the fastex buckle on the chest strap of my back pack. Literally had to unbuckle it between the bones of my wrists.

Spent 8 hours on skis yesterday doing my part to leverage aerobic nordic skiing opportunities for many others. I was a certification examiner for the PSIA Instructors exam, 7 candidates going for certification hailing from Mammoth, Northstar, Mt. Shasta, Bear Valley, and Royal Gorge. So the quality of cross country instruction continues to improve, and hundreds of people will benefit aerobically! I was pretty tired from all the demos and all the focused observation. Resting up now for the Mammoth Marathon.

6 mile 5 finger trail run. The highlight was 2 Rattlesnakes on the trail in different spots, right here in Walnut Creek! I mean, Wolf City!
The low point was that something poped about mile four, in my right calf... This happened a week ago on a run of the same length that was paved. in between I squeezed in a five mile trail run in full on White Man Running Shoes (FOWMRS) with no problem. Going to dial back the 5 fingers for the next few...

Yesterday, ~ 9 miles and ~ 2700' of breaking trail through the sludge and chowder, half of which I was loaded down with camera gear. Looking for bunny poo in the Carson Range.

These rabbits take in some pretty sweet scenery:

Rhyang, Rancho San Antonio? Great place to run and hike.

I agree, though I was a bit north of there -- headed up Black Mountain (2812') in Monte Bello OSP.

Jaybro, how is your calf feeling today? I am easying into Vibram's slowly -I walk and work out with them and do short runs on grass. I am so paranoid about injury to tendons and calves. They do feel so comfortable though.

I have been working a lot this week so very little mileage accomplished but I will be hitting the trails this weekend :) I am doing my first duathlon in May and will be practising transitions from bike to running and vice versa. I will be the gumby on a non-tri bike, no clips, and non-coordinating Lycra and will enjoy every minute of it. :)

I just did my second barefoot run of the year today up Negro Bill Canyon. A 4 1/2 mile round trip. I've been doing a lot of barefoot hiking with a 40 lbs pack. My feet are getting tough.

Lisa, non-coordinating Lycra Rules! Calf still sore. Taking it easy, packing and other wise getting ready for a road trip tomorrow. Packed all shoes. May be mainly working approaches for aerobix for a while, though there arr, killer trail runs in the desert.

Hoping to combine the Wind, pullups, and abs for obscure goals of more interest, on this site, than in the world at large...
