It turned out that Mr. Buffett, with immense income from dividends and capital gains, paid far, far less as a fraction of his income than the secretaries or the clerks or anyone else in his office. Further, in conversation it came up that Mr. Buffett doesn’t use any tax planning at all. He just pays as the Internal Revenue Code requires. “How can this be fair?” he asked of how little he pays relative to his employees. “How can this be right?”
Even though I agreed with him, I warned that whenever someone tried to raise the issue, he or she was accused of fomenting class warfare.
“There’s class warfare, all right,” Mr. Buffett said, “but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”

Show us some of the many links you discovered when you carefully researched your contention that the President has been asked to not campaign for Democrats.
This should be very very easily provable.

Sometime look up AMT and see how many "non-rich" and ordinary folks (like me) get burned by it. I used to get hit up all the time with AMT - big time hits - until I learned legal and totally legitimate ways to avoid it. Nothing burned my a___ more than AMT and I am not the only one so affected. How do you,personally (John) feel about "alternative" tax laws which are applied particularly to you (so you pay more taxes) and not to everyone. YOU get to pay more tax because your tax is calculated by an "alternative" system which steeply penalizes you. AMT sucks.
so I am surprised you dont blame Obama for AMT as well....
The AMT was introduced by the Tax Reform Act of 1969[14] and became operative in 1970. It was intended to target 155 high-income households that had been eligible for so many tax benefits that they owed little or no income tax under the tax code of the time

This post is to publicly APOLOGIZE to aa-lex and everyone else following this thread.
Aa-lex has rightfully pointed that out that I stated that ignorance was the defining feature of the Republican Party.
I should have said that it is "my belief" that ........
I wrongly stated as a fact only what I believed.
This was wrong for me to do.
Given the high order expected civility and correctness you all expect of everyone here, my words were WRONG. And I again, and again, APOLOGIZE to all.
Now Aa-lex, will you join us ALL in insisting that Lois either apologize OR show her proof?
How about, I manned up and apologized. Will she woman up and do the same?

obama wanted to keep the tax cuts for people making less than 250k$, LEB.
unfortunately, bush put this country so far into the whole with spending, wars and failed economic policies that there are folks out there hurting.
generally, if you are making over 250k$, i would dare say you shouldnt be hurting.
but i forgot, LEB ignores whatever it wants to....

Excellent, apologizing is quite easy, but only when the ability actually does exist within oneself to recognize and accept that one has made mistake.
Without that self introspection, little progress is made in life. I BELIEVE.
Lois surely quickly checks and responds to all threads she posts on.
Wonder what is keeping her from addressing this, surely she does not cut and run?

If your memory is failing, then simply go back and read the last two pages quickly.
Then come back and either provide your proof or apologize.
