TT,
You're prolly spot on although I'm going with my heart and say Ghana 2-1.
A large birdie is also telling me the Germans are 'going Dutch' but my
rational side can't quite embrace it. It should be barnburner, eh?

My brother-in-law is Brazilian and apparently still has not spoken.
Germany v. Argentina = clash of giants. Will Argentina avenge their 2006 quarter final loss?

What if Ghana looses on kicks.....it will be because of an intentional handball that was going in the net....COME ON GHANA!!!!

Well, the Netherlands should have won the 1974 or 1978 World Cup, so maybe this time they'll finally pull it off, even if without superstars like Cruyff and Krol. In 1974, the Dutch had the kickoff, passed the ball 13 times, and scored - without the Germans touching it.

Truly sucks. Frickin' cheater handball. Looked like it might have been in anyway. Never saw a proper replay angle.

It was in for sure.....he had no chance of stopping it without his hands. It was a smart play but truly lame.

No I mean it looked like his hands were behind the line so the ball went over before he even "saved" it with his hands.
Almost a la England vs Germany

It never crossed the line completely.
Shouldn't have mattered with even a half decent PK attempt.

Too sad to see such a grand game end in a loss like that.
Kudos to Uruguay for putting it in from the spot.
Poor Ghana. They deserved better.

I've seen a good number of dramatic football matches and this one was way up there. What a drama, I'm so sorry for Ghana.

Panzer Sturm! Didn't I call it yesterday?
Cutsie school yard ball doesn't cut it against
disciplined giants with speed and finesse.
The Argentines also liberally displayed the petulant
lack of sportsmanship which is so disagreeable.

Could be a Germany - Netherlands final, replay of 1974.

Thoughts on the Argentina vs. Germany game:
This was an excellent display of precision soccer playing. Each team was working well together. Disciplined, fast, precise, with plenty of action throughout.
Watching the defensive line move in unison on either side of the pitch was cool.
I began watching the match after the first goal in the first five minutes of the match. From there it was a great game to watch but clearly Germany had a bit more in the gas tank at the end tossing in another 3 goals into the last 15 minutes.
This all makes it possible to see a match-up between Germany and Spain, if Spain wins the next game.
This years World Cup is shaping up to be a great one...
gotta go.. watching the World Cup
