Where the Hoback and the mighty Snake River meet

Brandon, yes. I like new music a lot. It was too obvious to use that phrase with Joe Strummer. My playlist frequently includes The Pogues, Flogging Mollies, California Celts, Clash, Ramones, among other newer edgy stuff. Need to get some White Stripes. What about Dead Presidents Heads? Funny shiat. Only thing I don't like is straight up metal. And even some of that is OK.
Best concert I ever saw was David Bowie with NIN as the opener. They ended up playing together for an hour before NIN gave up the stage to Bowie and his band. Bowie took a turn in the mosh pit too. Wild!
But my fav is still Led Zep.

my all time favorite punk band. this is this from their 2nd relaease (1990) Their tapes were always labeled as "Gospel/religious" in such stores as Tower Records", etc. (along with all the other Christian bands) so they never caught on big time. I mean, howmany kids, or whatever, will venture over to the "Gospel Section" to check out bands/tapes. Only the Christian youth. I spoke with management, etc, as did the record companies, managers, etc....no go! It figures, eh? Talk about stereotyping. But you could buy their tapes in all the "Bible Bookstore" back then, that's where I got them. Talk about a clueless world!!
Regardless, they had a lot of great gigs via word of mouth. I listened to their tapes all day long on my Walkman. Heavy rifts and a driving beat with the double bass/kicker, and their lyrics were powerful. Rant over, lol!
check em, out...

edit: actually by then ^ they were more of a 'crossover band' from punk to thrash metal, but still had a large following from their ealier punk faze. they were only 17-18 years olds when the cut this ^ album/tape. the lyrics are particularly powerfull.

I like Strummer, never understood why he/Clash is/was considered so punk. I guess I'm too young to understand.
