Thanks Ron. Very well put. I've been trying to come up with some appropriate way to address this, and I just haven't been able to.

"What Fassbinder film is it? The one-armed Man walks into a flower shop and says: What flower expresses Days go by And they just keep going by endlessly Pulling you Into the future. Days go by Endlessly Endlessly pulling you Into the future. And the florist says: White Lily. "

Very nice, Ron.

Thanks for bringing Kyle up to my place in July. Though the visit was short, I probably wouldn't have gotten to see him without your help.

You're a good man.

Ron, your piece was haunting me here; I had to come back for another look.

Of course I was trying to tease out the clues to what sort of pharmaceutical you unwrapped in the cool of that basement. But it doesn't really matter. What counts is howling under the starry sky, then getting up and doing good work.

Maybe what really matters is the ache at the heart of acutely perceiving that drives us across the desert to reconnect with friends.

Well said Ron. Your caring for Kyle these last few years has been an inspiration for me- I don't think that I could do what you have done.

Ron, Thank you for your sensational heart felt story.
I woke this morning to rain, no waves, and no inspiration.
It's still raining and there wont be any waves for a few days, But, I am inspired after reading your post!
You,Charlie, Kyle and I have each crossed paths quite a few times in a variety of unique situations and dynanic places through out the years!

Cheers,

I have to make some trips later this year to collect and inventory Kyle's "Hall of Flame", his remarkable collection of gear.
I need to find appropriate repositories for it since, although the temptation is to keep the collection together, there are items that are tied to the history of specific places that I feel should be returned to those locations.
For example; I think Ken should get the Dolt pitons and Warren's hardware and the gear from the FA of the WOTEML, but there are some items specific to desert climbing and others to do with Colorado.

Then there are the books, many first editions and/or signed.
The reserve collection in Golden seems a good spot.

But mostly I want to see Kyle get the credit he deserves as a brilliant climber and renaissance man; a musician, craftsman, designer, intellectual, poet, prospector, archeologist, naturalist, and of course, world class cynic.

Hey Olaf, long time!

Hey Jeff, was good to see you last wednesday. Haven't had that many laughs in a while. Just saw how a couple days ago your low was 62 and the afternoon high was 83, nice time to be in Ogden.

Hmm. I think you're forgetting race car driver. Four hours flat, the entire White Rim. Jesus! My neck hurts just thinking about it.
