John,
Any chance of sharing the story behind the photo?
Looks like you were both having a great day.
Cheers

Yeah, he looks pretty fit, except for those parasite things hanging on him under his armpits.
I hope that pic made it to the "most buffed climber" thread.

Nice, all round guy is Ron.
Last I saw him he was flying/teaching paragliding in the Peak District with Geoff Birtles crew - around 1990. We were flying pretty sketchy wings back then.

Recently a historical record of climbing in the Peak District was published - Peak Rock. A stunning record of the game in the Peak District.
There was a launch event attended by most of the major players, Ron amongst them.

Ha! I see myself and 3 friends in that Rubidoux photo above from Lynn, via Sewellymon. I am the Hartouni look alike in the yellow shirt. Those were fun times. We must have watched Ron's final climbs that day, but I don't remember any details.

ho man, Hartouni must have looked a lot taller back then!
I was actually a short Paul Martzen look alike BITD... (I wasn't there, by '84 I had been on the east coast for 10 years and was just finishing my PhD work)...
