Mental Physics........

I've known Dr. F for some decades now, in fact we met as teenagers in southern California.

Though the good doctor has been known as a negativist, a cynic, a depressive, a curmudgeon, and a judgemental virgo......F has a heart of gold, is incredibly generous, sensitive, compassionate, is super-smart, gentle, sweet...loves all life, nature and beauty...

and...the Doctor is one of the most impressive, reliable and strong partners one would ever dream to have in the mountain or the crags..

Happy Birthday Craig...

Totally a fan of Dr. F!!!

He's a climber, plant lover, prolific poster, and--as everyone has pointed out--has managed to herd the Polly bunch into one thread where they can argue with each other ad nauseum and really feel like they're accomplishing something! Hooty-hoot!

That he's given LoisDean the perfect forum for her multitude of magnificently multi-dimensional and mayhaps multi-delusional mental meanderings is a feat worthy of sainthood.

Henseforth, he shall be known as Sri Dr. F by his adoring and unworthy minions...

Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Sri Dr. F

Yep, that Dr. F is a pretty cool guy. Definitely deserves the "herding cats" merit badge. Climbs. Grows pretty prickly things.

Here, here! Without him, I'd have to look all over for people to debate. I'm still hoping to meet you so I can buy you a beer.

Yep, much appreciation for Dr. F, Thanks for the Cacti report and advise.

Favorite Dr. F quote about Rebubs.

"They will never admit that they were wrong
About anything,
They just go on like it was never said, and start a new rant about something wrong."

Great appreciation for another colorful character here on the taco. Your cacti are out of this world - honestly I never knew such organism existed. They are amazing.

Uh, Nita, while I love you, this is a typically misguided statement. How can that statement ever be true? It can't, and is inherently a broken question!

You fux are misguided, but I still love ya!

in my last 25 year's worth of trips to JT, i've done "the fry problem" every time. without exception. possibly my fave JT boulder problem. and that is saying a LOT.

hat's off to you, craig. how we remained such strangers to one another after a mutual 35 love affair with josh, and so cal in general, is a mystery to me...but, having said that, i do know where you can score some Sclerocactus wrightiae

Dr. F, Guns, Craig Fry (however you know him) have shared MANY an adventure, climbing and working. Bitd he was a pretty serious climber, now he is a pretty serious horticulturist. Here are a couple we did from the "way back machine."

On Levitation 29 '85.

On Oz...85-86 ish. The classic pic of Bachar is hanging in the living room, thanks Phil Bard.

While on a 1/4 Dome FA attempt we watched a rescue of a guy and his partner with a broken leg. They abandoned every thing they had up there and told us we could have any or all. We didn't so much as pinch a biner. Anyone that has been up there knows how gnarley the approach is, we didn't want to weigh ourselves down!

More to come.

Guns and I did the W. Face of El Cap in '78. John (Largo) had told us about the "10a" variation. Craig got that pitch and led it in fine style, it was a bit scary though. We could have easily done it in a day but had prepped for two.

Dr. F on Standing Rock, Canyonlands;......when he used to climb more than breed, sniff cactus flowers and talk politics.....(there was a reason he was called "Guns."....).....
