Incredible place. I can only imagine that carpet of flowers and grass at the base of a crag. For some reason, I remembered something Donnini had typed in another thread. I think it was about exploring and finding new places. I also remember him excoriating serenity crack. But Mr. Donnini, I don't think the rock has access to the taco?

I'm not trying to wake sleeping giants. However, if you make it to the Winds, it might be fun to carry a blue cam. That is, as long as you and your partner are good at the grade. It might be easier on the knees too.

Finally, if the photos inspire a great many others to seek those beautiful places, will it be irony? Still, I don't think anyone will be humping a pin rack out there anytime soon. Also, I guess that most folks at NOLS have their heads in the right places.

edit: this post was meant for a different but also great trip report to the Winds.

Nice TR and great pics. The Winds were my favorite climbing area for perhaps ten years, and I made several visits to the Cirque. Your shots bring back the nostalgia of good times and epics.

Made a trip to the Cirque in the early 60s. If we completed a climb early, we just sat up there as the mosquitoes mostly went away after sunset.

Nice report, thanks.

Great trip report and photos, Shrug. Puts me right back in that fabulous place, and brings back memories of being an OB instructor, having great times with the students, learning as much as teaching.
