Yo'all take an easy on Kev!

His life lately been crazy-by his own admission.

Besides, if my memory serves me right (suffering from old climber syndrome, sometimes) Kev's has his birthday in August.

If this is so, then let's all wish Kev a happy birthday and a fun 2-week wedish.

We each have one... It's ourselves.

You are the moderator!

I know, I know... You want everything made easier for you, etc.
Time to dust off a few brain cells and use them. Plus, you might have to click into other pages... Very difficult stuff, all that effort...

Yeah, that was a bit harsh...

Sorry, just angry with what I see being a teacher.

I think people are getting too spoiled. They want "everything" programed and design to be easier. Even relationships and child raising practices are not going well because it's "work." People just need to get a grip and start taking charge, get their hands dirty, etc.

Nothing worth anything is easy, etc. If you want this world shaped in a manner you prefer, do it yourself and stop whining. Why don't you create the program yourself or... Do it the old fashion way by moving through the threads until you hit something you like?

It is what the rest of us are doing.

It's also got a tab for trip reports .. so TR's aren't buried by mounds of politics / religion / oprah topics :)

I think that the "don't open it if you don't like it" is the way to go, however the consequence of that is, in my case, there are fewer and fewer threads I am looking at... since I generally look at the climbing and climbing-related threads.

I actually think that the content is much more important than the form here, and that no matter how the content is organized I'd probably participate as long as the people contributing are contributing excellent material...

...I don't see how it matters just where that material ends up in cyber space... if it's gold, you'll dig for it.

Ed,

Yeah that's my main issue. Few and fewer climbing posts on the main page. Oh well....

I emailed Jay(who has made a hack for rc.com where people can "killfile" someone they don't want to see). He said he is not interested in making one for STopo. But he DID say that anyone with a knowledge of Javascript COULD create such a script.

From what I understand, his hack makes it so you simply do not see ANY post that the person you have killfiled makes. Besides eliminating their posts from a thread, I "think" it also would make any thread they started invisible.

So - I know there are plenty of people on this site who are capable of making such a script. Why they haven't = maybe there is some reason I don't know....Maybe they have made for themselves but think the rest of the whiners should learn how to do it themselves or something - hahahah

So - JavaJeniuses????? What about it?

Stich, Why you hatin on Ashley? I don't get it. Please explain.

Ashley, By your own account you are a noob at climbing and definitely a noob here. It is good advice to not piss off the old timers. If you really want to learn to climb, then you will have to meet climbers. An alias isn't going to help you do that nor is bagging on the forum. So unless you just want to get pissy here and aren't really here to learn anything. Then carry on. Otherwise, how about introducing yourself.

Welcome Ashley Blue. Don't mind Kev, he's just a sensitive individual. We need more rappelers like you on this website. Most of the people on this website focus on going up the rock, but you focus on going down. Going down is a specialty in its own right, and with your handle its obvious you should not have a problem with it.

Kev,

Let it go man !! ST is what it is and I think it is rather classic. In the past, I have posted similar rants and then laughed at myself for being such an ass. Open what interests you and don't open the rest. Take a break now and then and take an ST vacation. This is the first time I've posted up on ST for three months. But.......I'm back damit !!! What's that tell you ??
