It's a no-brainer for me - any weekend wil do. Let's just make it a non-rainy one if possible. I'm looking forward to seeing you out-of-towners.

I'm all for being closer to the central stuff...

Is East LA near the Nats 3 star boulders?

What do the pay campers from the last couple years think?

I would like to show up for a weekend provided the weather was stable. I took a lightning strike at Vedauwoo several years ago and don't relish a repeat. Other than that it is only 90 minutes from Boulder and a fun area.

Ed should know, he camped there for a while with Gary and Elcapin. Ed?

It's not alot and ya, you're right. Camping in the sticks is sometimes a pain. I worry about my stuff since there are a ton of people out there in the daytime.

TK, they also allow more than one vehicle per site and several people... at least they used to.

Ed, go anytime and let us know. We'll be there on any weekend.

Yes, there is more to life than just The Wide at Vedawoo... for example, the classic Max Factor, BITD. A thin crack workout and cuticle torture test :-)

it rains there, purty much every day where the heat soaks the jusce out of the thunderheads, mebbe every day, by 2; but as a Desert, it rarely gets above 8-15" of precip/ year. We're not talking the front range, here. Since '76, last yr was the first time I got shut out up there when I had more than a two hr time slot.

I have been shut down most by wind, then by heat, then in the distance,, cold, then wind. Now I can add, rain to the mix.

.04"? Are we worried here? divide by 30 - that's like two rain drops per day! We did have a nice meeting under the tarp last time tho..

I'll say it again. The sub tropical jet passes by about August 20. It is real and it will rain...

The sooner the climbing, the better.

Jaybro is right you can get anything! Snow, rain and hail in large Quantity at the crag and at home. Today! It’s just the way it is.Chances are we well get some of that no matter what week you all pick. ( or not) . It’s impossible to say.

Sure got drenched last time.

Going to try to get there before the rains this year.

As for the venue, while I like the outback, you can walk to anywhere this side of Blair, from the campground. And your stuff is relativelly secure.
True, you can't get as raucus, but that hasn't, been a problem, anyway, when I've been there ( I swear that brick of blackcats is going, in 'The fire next time.', haha) A select few campsites in the cmpgrnd have less highway noise than the original location. If there is another location within walking approach and with isolation, I'd be up for that too. Lots of roads have been closed, there since the OD corral days...

The Boogaloo will only be enhanced by the anointing of goodness by the presence of the bloot! Someone give him, and his camera, a ride! I would, if I was going that way.

I’m not one to predict the weather but I will say this chances are it will be good. ( and bad) depending how long you stay. It’s the Rockies! Come on, have you all- forgotten! Think positive and the Shoshone Indian Gods will make it happen!
