'94 limited anniversary edition, Saab 900T, the last one before excessive GM-ization. There are various cars that are faster, sleeker, etc but this is the one with the gestalt that works for me; it's an admixture of function and funk; 200+ horpower on a 99" wheel base, handles like a dream. @125 mph, on a windy road it sticks like glue though the cd player skips due to the lateral momentum. 2L motor goes 150, gets 35 mpg when driven more conservatively, skid plates, drop the back seat and there is a 7' long sleeping platform behind the front buckets, sunroof, heated seats, freezing ac; arecipe for serious fun in a wide variety of situations.

The Porsche 911 has been my favorite car ever since I could have a favorite car.
To me they always looked like a Beetle, going real fast-like.
The old ones smell like Bugs too.
Always been a 64 Falcon guy too- granny style.
But my 87 Honda Civic Wagon does me right... vintage.

That's not a lift kit. That's a standard Unimog chassis. I grant you your pop-up will be comfier although I've seen other Unimogs with equal amenities. I guarantee the Unimog will last forever, or at least as long as diesel is available.

One of my biggest mistakes in life was getting rid of my precious
65' MUSTANG !!!!!!!!!!! argh...... I fell in love with 65 Mustang when they first came out, drooled for years when I finally bought one, all original in perfect condition. But being non-mechanical I was always a wee bit scared I'd brake down, so in my youthful ignorance sold it.
Damn why didn't I just keep it and buy another car....

"Tarbuster, pics are great but how does that Lancia drive. How hot off the pedal.....top speed, cornering ? Ok, cut to chase...how does it compare with the 911 ?"
A beautiful 037 Stradale (stradale means ready for regular driving)
Below is a Lancia 037 in full in Group B rally trim, in action.
In Europe they have a different concept of crowd control; note the body's parting like the Red Sea at 2 minutes 17 seconds
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-oFv-_ypd0&feature=related
Lancia decided that a lighter, less complicated, rear-wheel drive machine could be more than just competitive. And lightweight the 037 most certainly was, weighing in at just 1170kg in road-going Stradale trim. Its two-litre water-cooled in-line four cylinder engine was dry sumped and mounted longitudinally in the chassis, exact displacement having been 1995cc thanks to a bore and stroke of 84 x 90mm respectively. There were innovative four-valve cylinder heads, twin overhead camshafts, Marelli ignition and an Abarth supercharger, compression being set at 7.5:1 for 205bhp at 7000rpm. A single Weber 40 DCN VH 15/250 twin choke carburettor was standard along with a ZF five-speed gearbox and single plate Valeo clutch, all of which enabled the 037 with a top speed approaching 140mph.
With 0-60 requiring just 5.8 seconds, Abarth's little Lancia had enough poke to frighten even the most exotic of supercars. Meanwhile, the 037's gorgous bodywork was created by Pininfarina, the famed Turinese coachbuilder crafting a stunning berlinetta shell fabricated from glassfibre reinforced Kevlar.
The first prototype was completed in secret towards the end of 1980. Of the 207 completed for homologation, a good number were later converted by the works to competition spec, which probably means less than 170 Stradale's were ever sold.

My pop has a 1957 porsche, I think it is a 356c? He bought it new and has driven it 3k miles in the last 40 years. The kids are having a good natured contest on who gets it in the will.
