Does science really have a left and a right?
Okay, just wondering. The other half is in hospital and I am bored.

The 'people' who work on these space Science projects are split between left and right just like the rest of the population.
They in in sense do make science left and right by the jobs they
choose.
On a 500 hundred million dollar satellite construction project you would not want someone on your team who'd get pissed off at some political talk over lunch and then do some vandalism...

This was Woody's last thread, and it also contains his last forum post.
His humor - and stubborn resistance to "assimilate" to the left––despite being vastly outnumbered––was admirable.
Rock on Woody, wherever you are...

Bumped Churchill, so will bump this one also.
Edit: Woody seems to have been stirring things up a bit when he started this one.

cc, 'vandalism' on a scientific project due to a difference in political beliefs?! What kind of spunk are you spewing?

I was reading an article on SFgate the other day and someone pointed out, a comment on the article, that when the icecaps melt, won't water level go down?
The same effect of melting ice in a glass. When ice melts in water the overall volume decreases, the water level lowers.
This doesn't account for glaciers, but only seabourne ice.

All I know is the current bad policy around GHG is leading to devastating EPA and state rules that will drive industry out of this country. They say they don't want to export pollution to 3rd world countries but that's exactly what they are doing.
