The Access Fund and Friends of Williamson Rock already have a dialog going with the Forest Service:

Williamson Latest News (Feb 6 2009)

The USFS thanked FoWR / AF for our patience:

“I appreciate how frustrating the situation has been (for all of us). We need our partners to help to figure out what is the best and right thing to do out there. Our goal is to find a way to protect the resources while allowing recreation uses to continue.”

Seems like it would be best to continue to coordinate communication to the Forest Service through the Access Fund/FoWR rather than opening another channel.

By all means contact your congresscritter and urge support of The Omnibus Public Lands Bill (#22):

Williamson Latest News (Feb 6 2009)

The Omnibus Public Lands Bill (#22) has passed the Senate and is in the House.
In the the bill the Forest Service asked for a larger exclusion area for Williamson
Rock from designated wilderness. Which is what FoWR had requested.

Troy Mayr @ Friends of Williamson Rock (FoWR) is on board,
as is The Access Fund.

We are coordinating an effort to meet with goverment officials as a united front.

We are consolidated in our efforts.

Everyone involved has a clear understanding of all the hard work that has been put fourth so far by FoWR and The Access Fund.

This is a grassroots effort and we support FoWR, The Access Fund and climbers everywhere.

Working together to present viable alternatives to the USFWS other than complete and permanent closure of this area.
