I too am in Las Vegas.
I would be happy to help in any way I could. I grew up in Colorado wobblin' on Kor routes.

"He has scheduled further treatment in Phoenix after vascular surgery did not have a good outcome in Vegas."
Vegas? You're killing me. He's lucky he made it out alive. Maybe if he'd been shot, had alcohol poisoning, or suffered a mishap at a tattoo parlor, Vegas might do, but only in an emergency. A plane ticket to Rochester MN runs 300 bucks or so. Mayo Clinic. It's where the docs who got A's work, and they kill each other for the opportunity. Apply for some sort of reduced income thing, then bitch a little on top of that.

The only thing that is stopping me is me. I don't want to climb in Valley of Choss. I want to climb in Red Rocks! I've not been there since about March. Gotta get back...
You guys will have a great time there in the VoF for sure - enjoy!

Looks like a cool place to me.
What is the schedule you are thinking Ron?
I just looked at out tickets, we fly in on Saturday Morning Nov 22nd, then depart at Midnight on Friday the 28th. If need be we'll change the depart date, but would like to know ASAP.

Ha! Looks like the wimpygirl post struck a nerve.
But have it your way Callie. I'm sure that the campground out at Red Rocks will be a great place to enjoy the extended hum of the long november night generators, although it makes it a little harder to make out the passing sirens and drunken brawls occurring two sites over. At least the rangers will open up the loop after three hours of daylight is wasted so you can enjoy clipping bolts and following chalked holds in the shade before rushing to make closing time.
We, however, will not be able to enjoy the benefits of such a structured life. We will have to approach our rocks at whatever time by 4X4 as we lack tourist clogged pavement, and will probably have to cart along a septugenarian geezer who probably hasn't a clue when it comes to dealing with virgin rock, virgin summits and the like.
However, if we DO happen to succeed in topping some choss then maybe we can post a photo of the event for your amusement.
You know how it is; for some people having to evaluate terrain just adds spice, other people need things made safe and dismiss much of the the most fun climbing as "marginal".
To each their own. I only wish MORE people saw desert climbing as marginal.

Can someone please post the date and location of the Kor talk, and the plans and location for any related camping, climbing, and other adventures? Saying "Thanksgiving" is rather opaque, as is "Valley of Fire". (It's safest to assume that many of us have heard of Las Vegas, Red Rocks, and the BLM camping at Red Rocks - but not necessarily much more.) Any related logistical information might also help people decide whether they can attend, etc.

Struck a nerve Chipperboy?
No, I was just trying to be nice. I think the climbing in Snow Canyon (and likely VofF) was marginal at best. (Still trying to be nice). I just didn't want to say that since I know you like the areas so much. And I've no doubt you will all have a good time there.
