Hidden Chimney was on my tick list 40 years ago, but I couldn't find anyone who'd done it. I haven't looked since 1970, though.

Alright, time to bump this up the ticklist priority... black tunnel-through hooked me!
Thanks for the bold addition Ed.

Hi Folks,
I don't know Les personally and I didn't ask him for permission to post this but I think he'll be cool with it. He's working on documenting some of his climbs in that area.

Hidden Chimney looks cool.

Wow, cool! Thanks Zander. Thanks for the original post, too. You too, Ed.
...and a belated thanks to Les Wilson and his pals for not only putting up these routes back in the day, but for posting their photos and words!

I was just thinking about Hidden Chimney last night! Wondering if I could get someone to setup camp at Tamarack Flat so I wouldn't have to do the East Ledges Descent and then walk back to the car.
Hidden Chimney is pretty much at the top of the list.
Les Wilson and Peter Haun gave a talk last month, which I missed, the only Tuesday for months when I wasn't available! I wonder if he talked about Hidden Chimney?

I got to ask Les about the Hidden Chimney, the season Nutjob and I were dreaming of doing it (Nut's 60 ft dive on an alternate start to the Chockstone the morning of our go meant no dice).
Les, who has that classic understated air to him, was hard to pin down on specifics, ha ha. "So, ok, so after topping out on the Chockstone, will we be looking to move up and right through Sherwood, or is it up and left? And is it tiered ledges, or ramps? 3rd class, 4th? How's the pro in the chimney itself?"
"Hmm. Yes, you move up through Sherwood. It's up there. Beautiful chimney, very improbable."
Perfect answers, appreciate the spirit in which they were given.
