Ken posted this last year:
Rick James suggested to me that I suggest to ya'll's that you print it.

Nature,
I'm in on helping with food. I don't get there until the 24th, but know my way around a sinkload of dishes, can make-n-pour drinks like a Melrose Avenue Pro, and am an expert with knives...the kind you use in the kitchen, too. ;-)

there was this one time, in yosemite valley, they were doing roadwork, and i was going to meet people at housekeeping, and i couldn't remember where it was, (other than by the river), and there was a handlettered sign saying the road was open for "housekeeping only" but i thought they meant only housekeepers, and i drove around in circles for like 14 mins b4 i finally tried it and rekanized it was teh camp g. i was lookn' 4.

Any dish washers-> bring rubber gloves, that bleach water is cold.
Light sleepers-> bring Ear Plugs.

I'll try to have some rubber gloves this year. Plus I'm brining my big ass stove to keep boiling water going so we'll make sure the dish water isn't cold.
I'm bringing my bike too.

One further thought, if I may gently guide the thread back toward boring responsible stuff. If you plan to arrive before the afternoon of Tuesday September 23rd, to help Ken with everything he needs help with, and perhaps also Doug - make certain that Ken knows all about it beforehand.
In a sense we (that is, Ken and the YCA) have been given some privileges of self-management during the FaceLift. Free camping for those who are helping, low-supervision group camping, SushiFest parties, etc. Which means we have to be responsible in terms of campsite usage and behaviour, and be seen as managing ourselves, and the Yellow Pines area particularly. Not to mention helping with the FaceLift itself.
As the saying goes, we'll have to sing for our suppers. But not too loudly.

I KNEW Rick James was Nature!
Thanks for the map; that makes it easy and somehow....more real. I'm really, really, going to YOSEMTITEEEE!!!!
I am, of course, in for the SushiFests, and will lend a hand. No way am I taking a freebie though. It's not anything to help out - I ain't so good in social crowds, and helping gives me something to do instead of being self-conscious! See.....helping is a selfish thing.

They tell me 'Once I wished I could sing. . .
now I wish You could sing. . . '
towards me. . . .
It's not a pretty sight!
We'll be on our gud behavior. . .

Now now now... don't go gettin' no rumor started that isn't true.
There's a reason Rick James is the ultimate troll.
Instead of one person having multiple monikers, the moniker I'm Rick James, Bitch!! has multiple PERSONS!!!
You never know who's Rick James for any particular post. In fact, rarely do the other Rick James' know who's posting.
So good!
(and I rarely post as Rick).

So looking forward to the Facelift...People are much more respectful in person.
I am also uneasy around big groups, glad to lend a hand in group chores.
