One of my favs. So was Chuck.
Me, too. I remember checking out the AAJ from the Doe Library and reading this article with my roommates. We lost a great writer and a great man.

I agree with many of the above comments.
One of my all time favorite climbing stories.
Pratt was the spiritual leader of the end of the 60's.
This tale set the standard of what it took to be a Yosemite "hardman."

It's been a goodly while since I last read this but it hasn't lost its

He lives in my memory as a humble, kind soul who stood apart in his pure love of climbing distinct from his place in the rankings and feat counts of the day.
